Oh, it’s just a joke based on how impractical a light like this is going to be, and how nobody would want one, while simultaneously asking to be put on the interest list.
Got you. Well , I think in a way it’s gonna be in fact very impractical - I’ll be shocked if it can hold turbo for longer than 10 seconds. Not with that head. But I still want one, cuz I like the EA01. Of course it’s gonna be a completely different beam profile, but I’m still curious. I do wish they picked a slightly heavier head with better heat dissipation for this upgrade or put a little copper in there.
As a distributor for Mateminco, a 21700 cell isn’t recommended because it’s such a tight fit, this could cause the top of the cell to collapse. If the positive terminal collapses it could prevent the safety vent opening if the cell tried to vent.
Use at your own risk. I’d recommend sticking to the 40T and 30T since the positive terminal is so strong
I’m curious too. Of course they are aware of the beam defects of the FT02S and it would really surprise me if they release a light with the same type of defects so I have high hopes. This time though I will wait for feedback from others before pushing the buy button.
Yes Ft02S has the ugly beam, and those Sst 40 in 5000K Or 5700 ( forgot which it was) didn’t look good either. I also love the EA01 Beam profile It’s pretty much my favorite beam profile.
From the beam shots Of the new one if the are real, it does Not look ugly at all, although for sst-40, I can see some rings around the corona. Anyway just pulled the trigger on the quad xhp50.2
Not to beat a dead horse but I would not assume the beam is any better or worse for that matter. Astrolux does not learn from their mistakes. The EA01 has high parasitic drain in some units after having this very same problem before in a different model, I think it was the FT02. Astrolux thought enough about this to advertise “low parasitic drain” in the EA01 listing but it still persists. I don’t see them making any attempt to replace the affected lights either.
