Interested, they could have just used the FT03. Is the reflector the same size as the FT03? Its probably a tad smaller?
yeah the reflector EA02 is a tad smaller than FT03.
i want to see the real throw comparison EA02 with FT03 dedome SST40…. I suspect both have similar throw.
Not much of a point spending $50 while $30 can do the job. 
EA02 is 12mm longer (182mm total) then the ft03 (170mm total). Also EA02 has the same battery and “head” section as ea01 (which is 116mm long.) that should technically make the reflector/head section of the ea02 66mm long (maybe a couple mm longer actually, because it is like ea01 but without a stainless bezel).
I just measured the length of the ft03 head (only) and it is 60mm. So while the ea02 and ft03 both have a 69mm wide head, the ea02 looks like it will be 6mm longer (~1/4” longer, could be upwards of 10mm longer). I have to believe that’ll make a difference, not to mention how that must change the geometry?
