I hear you. They’re both rated 35A at least on paper. The Efest cost under $10.00 while that Nitecore is nearly $30.00. And then there was the slight voltage difference.

The Nitecore 4800mAh rating is absolute crap.

Their cell is a Samsung 48G, rated at 10A. The 35A rating of the Nitecore is absolute bogus, and the cell can’t handle more than 35A for only a few seconds. Its voltage will drop too low too quickly if you try to drain it continuously, and will heat up A LOT.

Its maximum continous rated current is 10A. It’s a 10A max cell!

The Efest cell is rated truthfully. It has been tested to handle 25A continously, and can do 35A continously as long as the temperature is kept under 80C.

The nominal voltage is just a rating. It’s the average voltage of a cell. It will not change anything at all.

TLDR: Get this cell for the 219B version of the light:

For other versions of the light, go with the Efest 3750mAh of this beast:

Any good for the PL47 https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Liitokala-21700-li-lon-battery-4000-mAh-3-7V-15A-discharge-rate-power-5C-ternary-car/32848013569.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.27424c4dmkiVoZ

Yes, very good cell, but I would not buy any cells from any of the Liitokala stores these days.

I’d rather buy them from a trusted source like Sofirn:

why would you not?

Well, this might be of interest to you:

There is MAYBE one legit Liitokala store on AliExpress, but that one might even be suspect.

Interested!

Is the 219B FET throttled down to pull less current than the other versions? If not, does the 219B pull as much current but outputs less lumens because of effiency and CRI? If the latter is the case, wouldn’t a high drain cell still be required?

The Samsung 50e seems like a fantastic option if Turbo will still work without issues on the 219B.

well at that proce I will take a plunge as have no 21700…… SHED LOADS OF 18650’s(olight ones mainly)

It’s not that. It’s just that it has the same forward voltage as a 219C, and therefore, can draw a lot of current. In a quad setup, these can easily draw 20A.

The problem is that it’s a fragile LED compared to a 219C. I wouldn’t push more than 3,5A through it, as above that threshold, it goes past its maximum brightness, and starts acatually going down in brightness, and for sustained loads, this can result in LED damage.

It’s not too much problem with a 2,5Ah Samsung 25R, since while it is a high drain, it doesn’t have enough capacity to maintain high voltage for the 219Bs to pull a ton of current.

A 4Ah 21700 like the Samsung 40T however. That’s a different story, as it can easily push the LEDs to the absolute max for an extended period of time due to lower internal resistance.

With an increased capacity of 30-60% compared to high drain 18650s, it can stay much longer in full power mode, which could have the risk of pushing the 219Bs to the brink.

I am interested.

So safe to say that if you stick to a 10 amp max rated cell like Samsung 50E or ncr18650GA, the 219B PL47 is safe to run on Turbo setting without causing damage to LED or battery?

Thanks in advance.

Yes, that is it.

Thank you for the code

What is the draw to Littokala? Why not use the Samsung 50E and 40T?

Hey, BlueSwordM

Are you familiar with AceBeam’s 20A, 5100mAh, 21700? I ask because I have one on the way with another light.

I have a plan to insert LG HG2 into PL47 on SST20. Lower weight and probably sufficient performance. And so the lamp will probably be used in 99% on LOW
