Emisar’s lights are slightly thicker than a S2+ or A6. However, yes, I think the S2+ and A6 could also stand to be shorter and thinner. Potentially about 2-3 mm thinner and 15-20 mm shorter. I have other 18650 clicky-switch lights that size, and I prefer them because they aren’t as big.

The L10C is also a good alternative to the L10 if you don’t mind the longer body.
No memory and always start on the lowest mode (Moonlight or Low depending if you bough 3 or 4 modes version), available with Nichias

I’m thinking about modding at least one of mine too. If I can get some 219B emitters, I think I’ll put those in it. They’re my favorite, and they work really well in a 10511 which has had the frosting polished off.

I have a triple 219B here sitting on their CU-PCB.
And I am a bit afraid not to fry them in a FW3A. Do you plan to use a –20% version of Andúril?

Couldnt you just feed them with an NCR18650GA or or NCR18650B? That would limit the current easy.

Oh no…. … I’m not saying I can’t or won’t… just have not so far. If I ever did & the light broke…… I wouldn’t blame the light anyway.

I almost backed over an expensive fly rod & reel one time, but thank goodness I remembered it about 6 inches before things got real costly.

My main interest in this light is the tailswitch and overall size…though hopefully those prototypes aren’t accurate as I was secretly hoping this to be the size of the DQG Brass beauty, with the fancy and efficient ramping UI and triple emitters, since that particular light no longer seems to exist…

I would set the ceiling to the highest regulated level, and I doubt I’ll use it above that level much.

Quite. Which is also driving my strong interest in this, DEL’s driver with x1 and x7 (I think) AMC chips.

That is huge, having regulation (and efficiency) at all usable levels. Goodbye FET+1.

Plus Anduril of course.

I couldn’t care less about the FET, that’s just for headline figures for a few seconds on a torch of these dimensions, and over-powered-ness (if that’s a word).

If you like that, you might also appreciate Mike C’s approach. He has a 4-channel driver that uses banks of AMC7135’s additively to increase current up to the max level of the driver. Only a single AMC7135 chip is PWM’d so most mode levels are completely PWM free. The PWM channel is for modes below 350mA current.

I have a couple lights at 4000K with 92 CRI and 95 CRI. I also have several around 5000K with only 70 CRI. I find that the 4000K ones look yellow, while the 5000K ones look white and give better color rendition.

I don’t find the 219C 4000K yellow at all, unless you compare it to cooler whites, but that’s a matter of colour temperature.
Must say though, and this makes a lot of difference, i don’t have any 4000K 219C in a reflector light.

I have many 219c 90CRI 4000k lights (reflector and optics) and they are very yellow when compared to the 219B 9080 4000k, E21A 4000k, and Cree 5D tint.

the only 219C i found to be yellow are those on the KD triples. Looks more like 3500 K actually.
