I can also handle a soldering iron, but I lack the basic skills, especially in putting together suitable components.

I have two of these. Yeah, a 21700 is a bit heavy for a headlamp mounted on your forehead. I use it more for photography. A mule is such a wide area illuminator. It’s nice to have at least one in a flashlight collection.
I hope you ordered yours with the optional 22430 battery tube & battery. It’s a remarkable light in this form factor.
I like 18650/21700 flashlights and 18650 headlights.
I think a 21700-based headlight would be too heavy.
