My light just hit Smell A up the coast. Can’t wait!!
Put in 4 fully charged batteries charged on an external charger, rear indicator led on light is blinking red meaning the battery capacity is less than 10%. Turn light on and select level 1 or level 6 and light lights operates properly, select level 2, 3, 4, or 5 and the light will blink 3 times every minute or two. Decided to hook up supplied charger in case there is some kind of reset, AC adapter led is green and rear indicator led on light is red meaning the light is charging. What is going on?
Rule #1 with multi-cell lights: Always check the cell voltages before throwing them in. They must match (to 0.05V or so), or the combination is potentially dangerous!
Rules #2 and #3 talk about mixing different types, capacities, batches, etc. (all of then say: "No no!")
Brand new cells, all the same kind checked on a Fluke multimeter, 2 at 4.17 and 2 at 4.19.

Just removed magnetic charger from light, both led on AC adapter and led on rear of flashlight were green meaning fully charged. Turn light on and the same thing happening a few posts up is still happening. Rear led blinking red and 3 blinks in mode 2, 3, 4, and 5. All cells are fully seated.
Removed cells from carrier and checked voltage after removing from magnetic charger, 2 at 4.17, 1 at 4.18, and 1 at 4.20. Rear led indicator is now green and the 3 blinks in mode 2, 3, 4, and 5 have gone away. Sounds like it could have been a seating issue but there is only one way to place batteries in carrier, really no where to go wrong, none were reversed polarity. Before removing batteries from carrier I checked all contact areas for all batteries and everything looked fine.
The charger current level was down to around .5A when I went to bed. When I checked in the morning, the charge was complete, and the charger current level was reading .000A. That’s what I wanted to see. I wanted confirmation that the charging shuts completely down on completion. The individual cells read from 4.18A - 4.21A.
I must admit that I didn’t check the cell levels before I installed them. I just know that I had charged them a week before and used them for a bit to test this light.
Maybe tonight I’ll try charging some new cells that are still at factory charge levels.
