It wouldn’t be a flashlight company if they didn’t manage to screw something up. So right now, to get the best possible headlamp, I think you need…
- A Zebralight H600w III (or the frosted version). It’s a shame to give up the Mk. IV UI, but at least the PID works properly.
- An Armytek pocket clip, because Zebralight hates us and doesn’t include one.
- An Armytek headband, because that plastic holder is the best design going right now (yes, I’ve tried the Olight H2R).
- A spring bypass with some wire or desoldering braid.
- A Virence VR16SP4.
- Your choice of Nichia E21A emitters. Mixing tints should work nicely with the frosted lens.
This all seems like too much work. I should start a flashlight company and make expensive stuff that doesn’t have anything seriously wrong with it. I’d sell dozens of them, I’m sure.
