Haikelite HT35 MOD

Finally completed modification of my old Haikelite HT35.

I had Haikelite HT35 for years, hoping to upgrade one day.

While exploring MPS chips, I found some mpq8632 on Aliexpress for a good price.
The ICs I got were “old” ones with qfn25 footprint, and I had to spend some time searching google for old docs.

I made some custom drivers for diving flashlights with these chips and decided to make some for HT35.
The driver I needed was 28mm diameter with output current 8-10A at 3V LED.

Many things happened since this plan appeared till the final moment when I installed and used my driver in my HT35 light.

In short - the driver seems to work well.
Current is stable, around 8 - 8.5A.
Efficiency - 90-92%.

I used Osram CULPM1.TG LED.

Final results are not very impressive - I got 315kcd @ 1m (~1100m calculated throw).

Some info about the driver:

The driver uses 4 layer PCB.
As controller for modes, I used Microchip PIC12F1822.
There is voltage monitoring, but I have not made any temperature control.

As PCB modeling I used Easyeda ( EasyEDA(Standard) - A Simple and Powerful Electronic Circuit Design Tool )
As PCB manufacturing service Jlcpcb ( https://jlcpcb.com/ )

I have 3 spare drivers left (If someone needs them, can sell those for 7USD each).

On these pictures controller is not soldered, just test setup connections.

I can share any info I have for this project if needed.

Great!

Nice.
