Hi Stan, welcome from me as well. It's good to have you here. :)

With regard to picture uploads, well, I'm not directly opposed to it or anything. It's just that in my - very limited experience - it can become a cause of headaches pretty fast when "unlimited traffic" plans turn out to be not so unlimited or when someone decides to use large files (hq images) as an attack vector in a DDOS attack. DDOS mitigation is hard and costly so most hoster's policy is akin to "if in doubt, nullroute" which is the Internet-equivalent of pulling the plug and up until a couple of years ago, it was pretty common for HK-based retailers to (D)DOS each other for fun and profit. Using an external file hosters with plenty of bandwidth and a DDOS mitigation strategy in place pretty much takes that concern off the table.
