How does the WF-502B handle heat?

I want to make a WF-502b light using a XM-L2 and a 3amp driver on the standard P60 Brass pill.

Would I burn up my emitter or melt my host?
or would the WF-502b be able to cool itself enough to run for maybe 10-30minutes on high?

Provided you wrap your dropin in aluminum or copper foil see here

There shouldn’t be a problem. I don’t own a 502b so I can’t vouch for the host.

P60s have no direct thermal path to the body. At those amps you need to wrap aluminum/copper tape around dropin to transfer heat to the body.

I have 502B… it can handle the heat just fine… maybe a tad to warm to touch… but it’s not going to melt the host
