I’d like to do a direct drive setup. Just curious to know how many amps can this handle?
Well it runs nominal @ 3A which puts out around 1100 lumens but I’m not sure of the highest you can run without damaging something
If it’s a single cell, you won’t kill it. The forward voltage of the led is high enough that no single cell Lithium ion battery can kill the XPL-HI. You could wire it directly to the cell if you wanted to - your only problem will be heat.
Edit: Per TA’s test, it withstands the current that is produced with a Vf of 4.3. Diminishing returns, there. (Yeah, that’s a V2, but they’re close enough.)
