How many Emisar D3AA have you ordered???

I like my Dual Fuel Copper D3AA so much, that I ordered another one, a Dual Channel D3AA in Polished Silver. For the LEDs I chose NTG 4200K, and SST-20 Deep Red (660nm).

I chose the flat silver button, as Im enjoying the flat button on my Copper D3AA, and it has not turned on in my pocket.. I also know I can lock out these lights by turning the tailcap if necessary.

As insurance against pocket burns, I limit output to about 300 lumens by disabling Turbo and setting all 3 ceilings to 100/150.

Im planning a trip next month and will use my favorite battery type, USB-C 14500, so I wont need to bring a charger:

Im hoping the Polished Silver will arrive in time so I can travel with the lighter weight Aluminum model.

Wow, this looks really impressive imo, especially considering the D3AA’s size. What emitter/CCT/optics?

Would be a good marketing pic.

I agree, I was quite impressed myself! Though I don’t use turbo for longer than a few seconds, it’s nice to see it’s quite capable.

I ordered this one through Jackson and got it with the FFL351A 2700k. Sorry, I’m pretty novice when it comes to the technical stuff, so I don’t believe I can answer on the CCT.

Antique Copper with NTG35, 5000k showed up today. What a little tank this one is! Won’t be carrying this one around with athletic shorts, but I do like it quite a bit, a nice change up from my other 3 D3AA’s.

btw, you may not have known what CCT is.. but you answered that when you said 2700K (CCT stands for Corrected Color Temperature)

BTW, it has come to my attention that Dual Channel D3AA are sensitive to tail bumps and can change modes when setting down such as for tailstanding.

I solved it by adding a convoy spacer.. more details in this post

I’ve noticed this. Not only bumps, but a little bit of sideways pressure on the tailcap occasionally turns my D3AA off.

what battery do you use?

No, mine is actually a fairly early release single channel. Vapcell H10.

It does it just often enough to be annoying. Thankfully after it happens I just turn it right back on, I don’t have to unscrew and retighten the light like some people seem to have to do.

is the H10 a flat top?
(flat tops are shorter than Eneloop..)

if yes, I definitely recommend a Convoy spacer (on the negative end of the battery) to increase the length, and raise the spring pressure..

It’s pretty rare, but it does happen. It is a flat top, I bet it wouldn’t do it with something even a couple 10ths of a mm longer. I may have to try the spacer. Will give me an excuse to buy a new convoy.

I’ll probably just swap to eneloop though, I’ve been meaning to for a while but I’ve just never gotten around to it.

I have been experimenting with channel 4:
using 3H to change how much Red gets mixed with the white LEDs,

can create some nice rosy sunset colors
that vary slightly depending on which White LEDs the red mixes with

I experimented with option 3 but it is just a 50/50 mix.. I prefer option 4 because I can set the mix I prefer

I also experimented with Option 5, which has auto ramping of the mix, which seems potentially useful, such as starting with Red and adding white as the output is increased..

but in the end I find I prefer to set a constant mix for all output levels, so I settled on Option 4. This gives me adjustable and subsequently consistent amounts of Red in the mix, to suit my taste for a Sunrise and Sunset color.

The Dual Channel D3AA is presently my favorite and most versatile EDC. I added a KR1AA clip, using some solder braid in the tailcap to make up the gap, it works really well. I change batteries through the head.

And added a spacer to solve the light turning off or changing modes, when using the tailmagnet makes the light tap too hard and causes the battery to lose contact with the positive contact in the head.

Im also really enjoying the flat metal button.. surprisingly, I have not had any accidental activations.

And with the addition of a USB-C 14500 (with Turbo off), the light is a Total Package:
