I would say the dedomed M1 falls a little behind the C8 and is a little better then the non dedomed M1. Still think it’s to yellow of a tint but that’s really more of a personal preference, someone else might like the color.
I did like the tighter beam/spill combo it put out,may try another M1 with a different emitter around 6200k. An XM-l2 HI would be nice.
Heats up faster, smaller head and less heat sink so it was expected.
So far other then a little bigger then I want, the C8 will be my weapon hunting light.
It gives me the throw/spill I like in an almost compact enough form.
Sounds good so far…. keep us posted with further developments.
EDIT: Your using a 1C…. I bet a 1A would get rid of that little bit of “yellow” you are seeing. :+1:
Digging up my post with updates.
I got a XP-L HI V2 1A installed in a Convoy M1@4.5 amps high.
Just did a temp install, need to pull it back apart and get it potted.
Darn close to perfect, Nice white, good throw. For a small reflector I’m impressed.
Now if it just had a smooth reflector instead of OP I think I would be lovin’it.
I did order two XP-L HI V2 1A so I might try one in a Convoy C8 also at 4.5amps just for the heck of it.
