I killed my Yezl Y3 driver - replacement?

Well, it all stands in the title
I tried to mod the driver of my Yezl Y3 and killed it - which driver can I use with that light?

I would love to mod it with a MT-G2 - Can I use this driver: QLITE Momentary Switch LED Driver + ZENER-mod it for MT-G2?
If this works - the tailswitch would be useless, right? That would be very nice.

Also, I need the best but cheapest* 17mm ~5Amp driver for a triple Nichia DTP board, if anyone knows one.

Thank you!

Stack a replacement driver on top? Use the stock driver as a contact board / switch board.

If you don’t want to have to use the tail switch anymore then you want LDO (Low Drop Out voltage regulator) instead of a zener-mod. Zener has too much parasitic drain when switch “off” via a momentary switch. Zener really needs a tail switch to fully cut power.

Hi!

Yeah, I want to use the original board a a contact- and switch-board.
Is there a guidance for that LDO thingy? :stuck_out_tongue:

It’s a shame that there are so few good drivers for 2 Cells or more and for only one 3,xV LED…

Thank you!

Search for ld34 driver, fits perfectly

Oh my…
That truly seems to fit perfectly.
Without using the original board?
Just file away that bump and I’m good to go?

Thank you very much!

Too bad CK isn’t around, he has an amazing driver for the Y3. I have one in mine.
