Ikea ladda ready to use

Veeeery teasing!
And seen from the bottom?
SDK? :crown:
(the date code in exactly the right place - in picture 3)

Added bottompic to the previous post.

Thanks,
the very same structure of the bottom surface as Eneloop pro. Even the angles of the wrapper edges are the same. Same venting holes. Date codes at the same place. Same specifications. Japan.
The only difference I can spot is the color of the top ring and of course the wrapper text/color.
I’m ready to beleave they are really FDK made = Eneloop.
Very exciting!

I just remembered.
More reason to believe they are indeed eneloop.
They also sold “lite” versions.

1000mAh for the AA and I believe 500 or 550 for the AAA

Lol, I Just noticed the date code embossed on the batteries. When I read the comment I looked at the wrong numbers. Couldn’t figure a date out with them but now it explains why.

Enhanced them with a pencil.

1541-S3

1540-SX

I think 2015. week 40/41
Don’t know what S3 or SX should mean.

Probably production line ID.

Likely to be YYWW, so perhaps workweek 40/41 (circa October) 2015.

Discharge test with my maha C9000

Tested 2 AA and 2 AAA.
Straight out of the package:
AA 1A discharge
1781&1789 mAh

AAA 0.4A Discharge
641&626 mAh

1A charge for AA’s and 0.5A charge for AAA
Input values:
2387&2470mAh for the AA
919&923 for the AAA

Another discharge test with 1A/0.4A
2385&2400mAh for the AA
926&919 for the AAA

Nice numbers! Thanks.
I think that by using 0.5A (0.2 C) discharge for AA you will reach at least the 2450 mAh as specked.
The AAA perform very well!

Could be.
They might also increase a bit after a couple of cycle like the previous version did

I’m just worried that some MAP police will stop the feast before I can buy them in my country. Eneloop is FDK’s own brand, at least there is a giant sign on the (rear of the) FDK factory with an Eneloop battery (Google Earth street view).
Edit: I must admit that it was about 3 years ago, I saw that factory with Eneloop sign, seems they have changed residence, now residences!

Looks like he green/silver version are basically gone now. Checking the IKEA (UK) site and it now says

No sign of the replacement version yet either.

Nice, I like the new look. I have to get some of these very very soon

Just bought 4 new one’s in the same Ikea location as the OP. They all came in at exactly 1.32 V. Currently testing, results tomorrow.
First run, charge 1A, discharge 0.5A, discharge capacity: 2670 2631 2611 2590 mAh.
Second run 2646 2650 2673 2730 mAh.
Resting voltage 1.38 V.

Very high capacity, hope they last and keep voltage.
I stop running now and start cycling, so this is it for the time being.

Living in Sweden these are my standard AA and AAA batteries since a few years.
I use them in all kinds of stuff at home. I have about 40 AA’s.
I think it is the best bang for the buck right now.
I would recommend them to anyone looking for good value for money.

I think you are talking about the green/silver ones (as in post #166).
We are now discussing the new ones (post #168). I dont think you can buy them yet in Sweeden.
The Nederlands (Holland) seems to be pilot country for introduction in Europe.

Hi.

Just bought 4 packs of the new AA’s in Norway, so they are probably out on the market in several places. (NOK 69,- pr pack - around 8 USD).
The AAA had not arrived when I bought the AA but they were expected during this week.

Here is a link to Ikea Sweden: (pictures)

Well, I finally found it! Still there. Perhaps some would like to see it (sorry for the big picture).
Picture taken from 36 deg. 21.713’N, 139 deg. 0.682’E, looking SW.

And the main entrance in the other end of the site.

The address is: 307-2, Koyagimachi, takasaki, japan

2001 The TWICELL battery factory (owned by Toshiba) was sold to Sanyo. The LSD Eneloops as we know them came out in 2005.
2010 Sanyo was taken over by Panasonic, that then would have accuired over 80% of the worlds NiMh production which was against trust laws. Therefore TWICELL was taken over by (Fujitsu owned) FDK and renamed FDK TWICELL CO.,LTD
More details about the TWICELL factory is found in this link by accumulator…

Thank you for the news, hunter, and welcome to BLF!
It seems we can expect the new batteries in april if not earlier. Very good news!
