Inexpensive power-bank lights?

I’m doing flashlights for Christmas this year, and while my brother isn’t remotely interested in them he does see their utility, has had his smartphone die on him a couple times, and is in situations where I want him to have some source of illumination. To that end I thought I’d get him a powerbank/flashlight combo. I’ve found a couple of contenders, one from FT “[here]”:http://www.fasttech.com/products/1702001 or the Eachine Mini Y1 or Y2. The C3 from Fasttech has a ‘real’ emitter and reflector and still doesn’t look like garbage, but I can’t find any reviews or opinions. The Eachine are actually available from BG’s US-warehouse, but they are suspiciously cheap for a power bank that supposedly includes a Samsung –30A, even if the flashlight component is a “1W” unit with no real heatsinking.

Anyone have any experience with these two? Or any suggestions for something in that price range [cell included or not]?

Thanks for the time

I have the ruinovo 102 from FT.

It uses 2 generic 1W leds (I think) and generic optics, and it is pretty bright for what it is. The brightness is “infinite variable” and can go very low. This is the only power bank I know of that can do this, very neat feature.

I have used it in the highest setting for more than 5minutes, it got somewhat warm. The LED are soldered to a square board with little contact to the alu body.

Output is 0.9A to my iphone and the cells terminate @ 4.15V.

Overall is a very neat unit with great construction, you should give it a try.

I also own the C3 with the XPE emitter but it doesn’t feel as solid because the flashlight module is just a head that connects by USB, other than that it is just a regular power bank. It doesn’t have a low mode.

I have a RAVPower similar to this power bank , from Newegg…sometimes they’ll be on sale for around $12. Mine was advertised as having a Samsung cell, and most of their packs advertise as such. This one seems pretty cool, with a pocket clip and 3 modes.

How about this ENB triple?

I have the non-Cree version (just a 5mm LED) and it works well for most high-drain applications.

3x Parallel 18650 cells.

It is not bad but my sample had very inconsistent usb output when only using 1 cell, it seems to have the 3 cells wired separately, so could be a board fault in my unit.

The good thing about the ENB is that batteries can be switched very easily, flashlight is pretty bright.

One of the brighter combined lights and power banks and it includes the batteries. USA shipper so it arrives fast and none of the current hassle of batteries shipped from China.

Also a link to a thread covering a number of lights intended to plug into any power bank to convert it to a flashlight. Some a lot brighter than almost any combined light and power bank.
