Is there a budget version of the Spark SL6S-800CW? Really like the flood it provides

I came across this review and really like the floody light this Spark SL6S-800CW produces. I see it listed for around $100+. Is there an equivalent budget light/clone?

reviewer gopajti does a great job with his reviews:

Is flood the only criteria or do you need 800 ish lumens too?

Balder hd-1 1aa light with the hollow out design are super floody and on a 14500 500 lumens

How bothered are you about using 2 x cr123 vs 18650, and the two switch UI? If the answer is your not, then this is a damm good candidate :-

Order it with whichever emitter you like, xp-g2 for run time, xm-l u2 for out right brightness, xm-l t6 3c if you want a nw beam, pick your modes (hi mid low or hi mid low annoying) and your set.

I’ve built one myself as its available as a host too, I used this driver

Which I really really like, so much so, I’m going to build my missus a gold one with a u3 emitter as her edc.

It’s nice in that the mode memory works, and you can pick 3 mode or five mode using the clicky. So if she’s going out, she could set the strobe to memory for personal protection (turn it on instant epilectic fit) then for every day use she can just have it 3 mode.

Building it is not mega hard if you can solder, if not, you can order the factory one in the flavour you like and have a nice small bright edc with a lovely smooth beam (light op reflector).

It’s also very robust, it rides in my pocket on a lanyard with a srm h03

And due to the ha3 anodizing its not showing the least wear.

The only slightly difficult bit is adding a pocket clip, its been done using a solarforce clip and a bent paper clip in the tailcap to make up the difference (anodized threads for lock out so the end of the tube has to contact the brass part of the tail cap.

It’s also cell unfussy, I’m using a keeppower 3400mah protected cell, no problems.

So what was that other light you mentioned?

I want to stick with 18650 or AA based lights.

There you go then, 18650 powered, less than $30, what more do you want? 8)

I do like the looks of that little light. Any beamshots you know about?

These are not brilliant, but the whole thread is worth a read. You at least get some re opinions.
