Is This a Good Product/Buy???

Great product, not a bad buy.

I forgot how to math for a bit there. This ebay combo is about $7 cheaper than the best prices I can find on them elsewhere.

Just keep in mind these are unprotected cells.

I could not verify if they were protected or not. I looked just the batteries up and it said they were protected but could not verify that in the auction. I just thought all the name brand ones were?

Based on the picture they definitely look like unprotected cells to me. In a protected cell you will see a layer of shrinkwrap over that factory wrapped cell. You’ll also find that there are several varying features in 18650 batteries (Because they’re the most common there are many options).

Examples:

Protected

Unprotected

The varying features of NCR18650B 3400mAh cells are: Flat top vs Button top. Protected vs Unprotected. You can have flat top unprotected, flat top protected, button top unprotected, button top protected.

The cells in the ebay auction are flat top unprotected based on the picture.

Better alternative?

I don’t think so.

Those are NCR18650A 3100mAh, probably with a generic protection circuit.

Deducting the $16.25 cost of the i4 leaves $53.75 for 4 protected cells which is $13.44 per.

If you’re willing to pay that I suggest the i4 from Amazon and 4 http://www.e2fieldgear.com/keeppower-3400mah-li-ion-protected-18650-battery/ (Use “KEEPPOWER” for 20% off irrc. There are NCR18650B 3400mAh cells inside the Keeppower batteries. They are known to have a quality protection.

Or if you can wait I would personally get them from RMM (He said restock hopefully by next weekend) at $10 per cell with quality protection.

Personally, I would never buy batteries on ebay from an overseas seller. Maybe I’m being paranoid, but there are plenty of cheap shrinkwrap panasonic/trustfire/etc labels on aliexpress/taobao. EDIT: worse than I thought "Make" your own UltraFire 18650s!
