It seems to me that when the markup is less than 450$ the final price is lower, i could be wrong though.
The price to me is shocking, especially since I know how much all of the source materials cost. However, I am a firm believer in capitalism. If he can get people to pay that price, good for him. The only thing without a known price is his machining skill, and clearly he is pretty good.
He’s considered one of the best. An artist. His work is priced accordingly. Think McGizmo or Mac. But with more style.
That computes I guess.
I’ve never understood the draw of high-priced art either. I spend money on form and function, but rarely a name.
To each his own, it’s a beautiful light.
You’ll pay for a Photon Fanatic light too. When you think about the hours of labor involved it starts to make sense, but still…
Don’t get me wrong. I’m sorely tempted but also agree the pricing of these high end lights are nuts. I used to have McGizmo and a Mac. Sold em because $1100 for 2 lights was nuts for me.
Oh. And also, I, don’t care about name, just the quality of work.
McGizmo and Mac’s are perfect examples of lights that pretty much keep their value. In the case of Mac’s, they are now selling for much more than the original purchase price. So maybe these “prestige” lights are not such a bad investment. Probably better than money in the bank these days…….
That said… There is joy in customizing a ten dollar Convoy and getting the same performance as a high end triple.
I agree. I can get the same performance with more customization options for much less. Just a beautiful host though. I liked the McGizmo but the circuit options were very poor (14mm circuits).
Mac was somewhat under priced intially. His supply problems increased scarcity and Jacked up demand and price. This is not typical.
I love the creativity that goes into these lights. Does he do his own machining?
I think so.
2400 bucks for the blue gunner grip light. That’s reasonable. I’ll take two.
To me that’s rediculous like Tag Heuer watches. 3k for stainless steel and a rubber band.
Yeah, I just looked here too, now who’s tripp’in? http://www.edcknives.com/brands/Hanko-Machine-Works.html 8) I still want one!!
Not a huge fan of “all nuclear” here but I wouldn’t mind having one, nice design…
Forget about the titanium, zirconium is where its at, they look amazing!
Twisted teardrops.
So very tempting, but I shudder thinking about when I inevitably drop a $600 light…
Still in stock. I just checked. You know you want it……
I know…
I did have a pimped Haiku I loved, sold for around $600. Also sold a pimped Mac before the big rush after he disappeared. Miss that somewhat. This one would be equivalent. But $600 ($30 shipping, not counting the $40-50+ for trits).
Man… Would need to sell quite a few lights…
EDIT: Just got some pricing with 4 extra trits and 219B LEDs. Close to $800. Wow. I’ll live fine without it…
