There is no low voltage protection in this light.
It keeps running. It can’t cut power below 3 volts because then none of the AA/Nimh cells would work.

The thing is, the driver switches from linear with PWM for the low modes to boost with current regulation (no PWM).
I can imagine the firmware incorporates battery protection too.

No, I did not test it. However read somewhere about it, cannot find it now. Fasttech says that JET-1 does not have LVP.
I change the cell by 3 volts, only £1.50 each quick to recharge

STD ones have 6 cells. Both I opened recently have LGAAS3 cells and Sanyo R1112
one set from my Lappie.(LG) one set new.from AU sales Genuine Toshiba battery $50 del.
All 12 take and hold full 4.2v charge in Xtar VC4 charger.
and don’t die any quicker than the Panasonics I have.
Tried a few Chinese (fire) battery’s. Hmmm. Think the internal Panasonic cells in most of the good ones are the way to go.
