There is a difference in throw. I have both - original SkyRay and Uniquefire version (which is 5 mode only) which I believe is the same as Fandyfire you linked. They may look similar outside, but their construction is quite different. I posted it here:
Even though deeper reflector makes tighter hotspot @1m, at longer distances it diffuses quicker. At around 200m Skyray has noticeably brighter hotspot, the (what you called) “usable throw” is really impressive.
