It doesn't sound like it has the same driver as the Fenix original which had some long running modes (5 lumens (65hrs) , 50 lumens (5hrs) ).
This one sounds like I'd be lucky to get much more than two hours on the low mode with an eneloop. Too bad because otherwise it'd be an excellent light for camping/ survival.
I received my Yellow one just an hour ago. It is one bright light with only an alkaline AA. Three modes are ok, High, Mid and Strobe. Has a magnetic tail that is really strong for any use.
The head is a real thrower. Not much useful in close work but good for general illumination. I have a couple of diffuser you guys suggested I may try with this. Not bad at all I must say.
A friend just received the yellow version from Kaidomain. That thing is surprisingly well built. The beam is kind of throwy and has multiple brightness zones. But with a sturdy clip (easily detachable), lanyard, "coat hanger", magnet and adjustable head it is easily worth the money they ask for. And even when I own the UF H2B... I'm thinking about buying this light too
I would want a pure flood in this kind ofmlight. I envision popping it on a piece of steel with the magnet and using it as a work light. Too bad they made it a thrower.
@ Haggai: No, different diameters, see post #31 above.
I have three of these now, excellent little lights IMO, much better build quality than you'd think from the seller's pics. Usefully bright on AA, much more so on 14500. Throwy beam is the only downside I can think of; if it was floodier this would be my perfect work/glovebox light. Tail magnet is just brilliant. Still looking for a suitable diffuser..
That little Z1 is very tempting, but so far I've resisted CR123 size lights. No aversion to them as such, just trying to keep my battery choices simple. Also, the Z1 has no tail magnet. Now that I've used an angle light that has this oh-so-cool feature I don't think I could go back..
