I asked, Hank said no to me, so then i made one out of my copper kr1 and ti/copper kr4. only thing i dont have is the bezel in copper. it is awesome though, real heavy
My D4V2 arrived today. Couldnāt wait till tonite to test and compare it. Absolutely gorgeous tint. Thank you Hank, for a beautiful torch.
I do prefer the length of the S2 in my hand, but the button placement on the D4V2 is more natural.
These are my three E21A torches. L > R: D4V2 2000k (quad) S2+ 2200K (single) S2+ 3500k (single)
LOL, let me know how it works. The more i look at the pic of the copper d4v2 on the OP, the more i think that copper is so good lookingā¦ I may have to order one when they come back, if they do.
I wish the KR4 would come out in copper so i could have a complete versionā¦
Photo of said lightsUV mule and SST20 deep red turned up today. Just comparing the UV mule to my i5UV olight in the house, the Mule is gonna kick some Ass! (Pun intended :D ) I popped the optics out of the deep red to give me a nice, even flood for astro duties but can pop them back if I want some focus. Btw, a bit of sticky tape stuck over the optic really helps getting them out. Lookout scorpions :) !https://www.facebook.com Hmmm, don't seem to have a handle on inserting images - click the 'photo of said lights' to link to pics....
Nice! Looks great! i have the d4v2 ti/copper with 4000k/2700k sst20 mix coming in, but ive been wanting the e21a with 3500k for awhile now, just havent pulled the trigger! glad to hear its good!
Also, yea there was a decent amount of thermal paste āsqueeze outā into your opticsā leg holes, nice work cleaning it up. You never know what will effect the quality of light OTF of these little lights. thanks for sharing the pics!
FFS we are about to see smaller and more powerfull lights, not car Fog attachment.
Better work on D1V2 or anything single emitter or 14500 size.
Going that āpocket friendlyā size iāll dust of old incan hotwire Maglite mods...
Hank,There will be KR4 or D4 with selectable variable tint mix?
Would be wonderfull with E21A 2000+4500k or others 95+ Cri Leds
A great alternative of IF25
Actually, I paid Hank $10 to mix 2700 and 4000 diodes evenly. So 9 of each. But from any distance, it blends into a beautiful soft yellow beam. Like an old maglight.
Doesnāt blind the people Iām out walking with like my 6500Kās. As much as I love E21A 2000K for indoors, itās too warm and not bright enough for my tastes for walking around outside
You also might like XP-L HI V2 5D 4.000K. I have that for CH1 on one of my K9.3s and the power is awesome yet the tint is gentle on the eyes. I wish Hank could put 18 of those in a D18 for me but I donāt think thatās possible because of the driver or something
Iād love it if his website let you search my emitter or tint. Like pick that one and see all the lights that itās possible to put in
Iāve been asking for something like that since the original D1, but we get this instead. Who even wanted something like this that doesnāt even take a 21700?
Anyone have a D18vn with cslpm1 or cslnm1? is it worth it? meaning added throw for added heat? Letās say cct is not a factor because it is what it is. I had the d4s cslpm1 and sold it because it was impractical (Heat), and i didnāt feel that the added throw was worth how quickly it got uncomfortably hot. it got hotter faster then my Lumintop X9l with roughly same output and throw. iām wondering if d18 with osram is the same? or is the added throw so good it overrides, for you, the fact it gets really hot?
I dont know if this question makes sense, but iām considering d18 with cslnm1 or -pm1.
