Emisar D3AA is available now

What did the translation say?

Sorry for posting in Sindhi. I wrote: Unfortunately, I did not get any answer.

Anybody know what Hankā€™s Order to ship times are doing at the moment, all my lights from him have been 2 days between, am up to 4 almost 5 now and havenā€™t seen anything. Weā€™re making him busy I suspect?

I ordered a D4v2 a couple hours after the 219b was listed (about six days ago) and the order is still ā€œprocessingā€. Just have to be patient; Iā€™m sure heā€™s busy with the influx of orders since the availability of the 219b.

We have one item in the UK warehouse (actually itā€™s for one Germany customer, but it did not pass the Germany customs due to Brexit).

D4V2, cyan, raised switch retaining ring, XP-L HI 4000K, V2 5D, with extra 10623 frosted optic, the original price is $60.67, now, half of the price, $30, for UK customers only.

Yes please!

How do I purchase this? I canā€™t find the UK warehouse on the website.

Hank, is there any chance to offer more (even exotic) emitter options in the future? I am pretty sure than many of your customers have become loyal completists/collectors of your lights.

My wish list...(to be concluded)

Emitter options:

  • Nichia E21A 1800K R9080 or R9050...this is as close to real candlelight as it gets
  • Samsung LH351D (2700K - 6500K, 70CRI - 90CRI)...whereas 90CRI will most likely be favored by most people
  • Luminus SFT40 6500K 70CRI (or even 5000K once available)...would work great in KR1 or K1
  • Cree XP-L2 4000K - 5000K...yes, it has horrible tintshift but it's still one of the most efficient emitters and underneath a frosted 10623 or 10624 the artifacts should disappear
  • Cree XHP50.3 HI 3V...once it becomes available
  • Cree XP-P...a good opponent to Osram's KW CSLNM1.TG but hopefully available in warmer tints (< 6000K)

Accessories/Miscellaneous:

  • How about shipping your lights with an AndĆŗril 2 UI diagram, printed on a card or sheet of paper? I made a general one and some customized ones for Sofirn. I could easily derive one that reflects any of your customizations (e.g. direct access to Turbo from Advanced UI). Or you could simply put it onto your website next to the nice pictures of the light. ;) Let me know if you are interested.

For reference...the custom-made AndĆŗril 2 UI diagram for Sofirn's SP36 (Pro) / Q8 (Pro) models

  • Optional greenish AR-coated lenses (to lower the Duv value and get a more rosy-white tint on LEDs with tendency to greenish-white above the BBL)

Maybe I should apply for UK citizenship, lol. Too many good bargain deals from Hank these days but I live in the wrong country. :D

Haha, thereā€™s only been three. But the previous two were too cool for my tastes!

I want a hank-light so bad but donā€™t know what to get or where to start! I donā€™t ā€˜needā€™ anything I have over 50 lights but I just want something good. Is the D4V2 with nichia 219b 3000k the way to go? Iā€™d even get it in brass, maybe copper. Whatā€™s got a real nice tint & is just an awesome Hank light? I bought 2 dive lights last night so Iā€™m on a binge.

Is Hank still doing backlit switches on Al D4V2ā€™s? I donā€™t see the option on the website. Iā€™m assuming you request by email?

You need to request by email.

To make sure itā€™s still possible, email before you place the order to confirm.

Important question (to me, at least):

Will a double wrapped 18650 fit in my new ā€œHanklightsā€? Iā€™m about to purchase a bunch of 3000mAh 15A 18650ā€™s. Iā€™ve had really good luck with Epoch batteries (which is the 18650batterystore.com house brand), and theyā€™re all rewraps of the best batteries out there. Their 3000mah 15A battery is just a rewrapped 30q, but is on sale right now and of course the double wrapping offers better protection. In fact the ones Mooch tested performed a little better than the 30Qā€™s. So I would like to buy a bunch while theyā€™re on sale, but wanted to make sure the extra wrapping wouldnā€™t cause fit problems. To be clear, the are NOT protected, just double wrapped. The website gives the approximate measurement as 18.25mm x 65.05mm. Mooch gives a rough diameter estimate of 18.5mm.

Will these fit just fine?

Thanks!!

Edit: Never mind, although I couldnā€™t find the specs for the inside diameter of the cell tube, I feel like I can safely assume these cells will work. Theyā€™re $3 cheaper than the 30Qā€™s right now on while theyā€™re on sale, so Iā€™m gonna scoop a bunch up. I can easily see myself getting a D18 or that new Convoy 4x18A SBT90.2 sometime in the near future, or else the BLF Sofirn LT1, so the extras will be nice to have. I guess I need to check if any of those require button tops. But even if thatā€™s the case, I at least have 4x PANASONIC/SANYO NCR18650GAā€™s that Lion Wholesale put button tops on. Those are some fantastic cells for lights that donā€™t need 15A. Pretty much the same as the 30Eā€™s I guess.

Man Iā€™m really, really interested in a soda can light now. But thereā€™s so many cool options, and not just from Hank. I just saw the configuration for the D18 thatā€™s w2ā€™s in the middle, and a mix of 2700k/4000k sst-20ā€™s on the outer ring. Pretty dope light.

Does anyone have any emitter configuration recommendations for the D18? Also, what are yā€™alls thoughts on the best/coolest/most-doperest can light to buy for under $150? Even just a regular 18x sst-20 D18 is tempting, knowing the bins he has right now are good. But now Iā€™m reading about all these other awesome can lights like the Astrolux MF01S, and the Convoy 4x18A. Anyone have any other suggestions?

This is quickly becoming an all-consuming obsession. Consuming all my money, to be specific, lol. I donā€™t mind it consuming my focus and energy. Thatā€™s the fun part.

I have the W2/ss2700/4000 combo and I like it. Means itā€™s good to use around home but really kicks like a mule when you need it. Can take photos/video if you like.

Dude! I just saw a video that really showed some good perspective of how portable the D18 is. I really want one now. Itā€™s honestly a little bit of a bummer that it doesnā€™t use flat tops like everything else, but oh well. I am so close to adding one to my ever-increasing order.

Also, everyone else may have already known thjs, but I didnā€™t:
Hank emailed me back in response to my question about adding a backlit button to the regular aluminum D4S2 and said that it is still an option.

I also inquired if it was an option in the D4SV2ā€™s, and he said that it is not an option.

Just FYI.

ā€”ā€”ā€”ā€”ā€”ā€”ā€”ā€”ā€”ā€”ā€”ā€”ā€”ā€”

Yeah, man! Iā€™d love to see some pics. Thank you for offering! Thereā€™s a good video I found on Reddit/YouTube. Is that configuration as voracious for battery life as I hear?

Pulled the trigger on a D4SV2 with 4x W2, and a D18 with 18x SST-20 4000k. But on Hankā€™s site, the only option for D18 optics is ā€œfloods optics instead of default type $1.99ā€. Thereā€™s not a way to select default optics. Does anyone know anything about this? I emailed Hank, but I figured Iā€™d ask here too. Iā€™m hoping itā€™s just an error on the site. I ordered the light anyway and emailed Hank requesting default optics.

I now have the following five lights headed my way:

ā€¢D4V2 w/ 4x 219b sw45k (full copper with amber switch backlight)
ā€¢DT8 w/ 8x 229b sw35 (dark gray with warm white switch backlight)
ā€¢KR1 w/ SST-20 4000k [FD2 bin] (dark gray w/ SS bezel)
ā€¢D4SV2 w/ 4x W2 (green w/ SS bezel)
ā€¢D18 w/ 18 SST-20 4000k (Black w/ hopefully default optics)

Iā€™m in the 5x Hanklight club!
I think I made some good, diverse choices. Just donā€™t judge me on my obsessiveness. Itā€™s a little embarrassing I went all in so fast and bought 5x lights before even having the first one in my possession. With that said, Iā€™ve done my research, and thereā€™s so many people that vouch for these lights and so many posts and YouTube videos and stuff about them I feel like Iā€™ve made a pretty safe bet.

I wonder how much longer Hankā€˜s supply of 219Bs will last, lol. Following those many enthusiastic posts here and on Reddit we can only hope heā€˜s got a whole reel on stock. :D

Hank messaged me the follow a few days ago:

ā€œā€¦currently, there is only the floody optics for D18 in stockā€¦ā€

I replied asking when the default narrow optics would be back in stock. No reply to this question in the last few days although he as been on BLF as recently as 5 hours ago.

That is all I know.

Well crap. I figured it was an error on the site. I figured wrong. Do yā€™all think itā€™s a bad move to go with the floody optic for this light? Should I just cancel the order and wait for the default optic to get back in stock? I guess I could also just keep the order and ask him to just wait to make it and ship it until it came back in stock if it was going to be sometime real soon.

Would the floody optic be cool, or nah?

Edit: Btw, thanks for the heads up, Nite Shadow. I appreciate it!
