KeepPower 5200mAh IMR26650 High Discharge

Rather 0.193 mAh per mm³ if you take NCR18650B’s real capacity (3.2Ah). A comparable 26650 would have 6.68 Ah.
A 5.20 Ah 26650 is comparable to a 2.49 Ah 18650. Which is where standard chemistry 4.2V 18650 still are.
But the KPs don’t have 5.2 Ah, rather 5.1, making them indeed comparable to a 2.4Ah 18650.

BTW: It’s better to look at batteries in terms of Wh instead of mAh. The Panasonics do have a capacity advantage, but their lower voltage in the 2nd half spoils it a bit.
Looking only at mAh or capacity density (mAh per mm³), a NiMH AA battery is far superior to any Li-Ion: 0.325 mAh per mm³.

I just got my battery yesterday, and thought I would do a simple runtime test. I ran both the Keeppower 5200 and the King Kong 4000 ICR in my Foursevens MMU-X3 all the way down until the overdischarge protection kicked in (3.0V on this particular light). The Keeppower gave me 2:25 (145 minutes), and the King Kong gave me 1:59 (119 minutes). Given the fact that the King Kong 4000 ICR routinely tests at around 4300mAH at the kind of current draw seen with this light (about 1.5-2.0A on high after thermal stepdown), this indicates a capacity of roughly 5240mAH - just about spot on. So although the above tests show that this battery might not be the best if you need LOTS of current, it appears to be THE 26650 to get if you are simply looking for maximum runtime for your average 1x26650 XM-L light.

I just got a "MaxToch" labeled 5000 26700, and it's labeled exactly, I mean exactly like a KK ICR, just says 5000 instead of 4000 and MaxToch instead of KingKong, so I'm assuming it's made by the same manufacturer. Interesting.. It is a true 26700 in length, but it fits fine in the new MaxToch M12. I'm gonna do some tests with it - charged it up, and can run a capacity test on my Opus Dream charger. I got a bunch of 26650 lights, but don't think I have one that will fit it. I got one Moli 26700 but it was a big disappointment for me in capacity, power, and the odd size.

In a BLF17DD based light (SupFire L6), the KK 5000 (MaxToch) did 5.9A @4.18v, where a KK 4200 @4.19v did 5.7A. In the same light again, a Powerizer did 6.2A @4.20v, and an Efest 35A did 6.0A @4.18v. I'd say it's a keeper! Wonder where I can buy more of these things... Of course initial amps tested like this doesn't tell the whole story of how it will drop in discharging, but it does say something...

Of course I can't run this stupid cell in the SupFire L6 because I can't screw on the tailcap of course... It's a whopping 70.9 mm in length.

Looking forward to see if you add the Keeppower 5200 to the mix. I’m really curious about how its internal resistance stacks up to the rest.

Welll, been think'n originally of getting them, but that 10A and 15A don't look good, so I don't think I'll go for these. I really need something with a min of KK level performance. I got some very high amp big lights now, well, after I mod them of course...

Vinh on that other forum found the highest amps on a given light, modified Foursevens Maelstrom MMU-X3, were these 26650 Kinoko IMR26650 4000mAh High Discharge. Personnally i’m weeding out most of my 26650’s to either the Kinoko for high drain and the KeepPower 5200mAh for the rest.

I've seen/read one of his posted battery tests and it was very limited - actually only cells IS sells. Haven't seen those Kinoko's tested head to head against anything notable. They could be branded KK's, dunno. CPF'ers tend to use name brand cells which are usually not the best... They cost the best though Smile.

These cells ar enot as good as KK's... That monster should be in the 13A tailcap range, so 13A per cell I'm thinking. Someone else showed the DMM reading off the tail. At 10A, these cells are 0.1V lower than the KK's. Please compare to HKJ's 10A draw for the KK ICR's.

Yes, I would recommend the 4200mAh version if you need higher discharge capability over capacity.

So KK gold like these would be the best for 18sixfifty modded monster? Best mAh while still having high drain?

You website says you tested the KP’s at 15A continious though? Does that mean the KK’s do more than that?

There are two KeepPower IMR26650 batteries we tested:

KeepPower IMR26650 4200mAh
KeepPower IMR26650 5200mAh

The first I would approve of under 20A continuous and the second under 15A continuous, unfortunately there is no industry standard we base it off of besides my own reading of our voltage test charts. I tested these two batteries because of the possibly confusing manufacturer specifications. By KK's I assume you are speaking of King Kong ICR26650 4200mAhs? I only had a 15A discharge test of the 4200 KP so there's no direct data to compare the KP and KK, I'll probably run the 10A test tomorrow, though it would be better if HKJ tested the battery himself for consistency.

Those KK ICR's are great, yes. They are also sold under many brand names. They are labeled 4000 but usually test at 4200. FT has a great deal on them. BangGood seels the INR's I believe, but I'd stay with the ICR's.

I've been playing with a 26700 5000 cell under the MaxToch brand name, but believe it's the same manufacturer as the KK's (same exact labeling as KK's). It fits well in the new MaxToch Mission M12 -- looks like a HD2010 but high quality, ID of the reflector is bout 5 mm bigger. Wow - great #'s stock. I did copper wire the tail spring though to get another 100 lumens and a bump in throw. 1,200 OTF and 102 kcd -- not bad stock, after the tail spring is wired. That cell does 4.0A in this light while a KK 4200 did like 3.8A. First time I've seen a 26700 cell rated at 5000 mAh -- awesome!

Calvin - do you know who makes the cell for KP in that 4200? I'm thinking it is a KK cell... KP is sort of a PIA with identifying the cell. They've been switching suppliers so it's getting confusing...

They're keeping it under wraps, even from me.
