Launch time!

we have been watching the crew-cam live feed.
what has been funny to us is when the woman’s head is close to the camera
and below the camera frame, her red zero-g hair floats in front of the camera which obscures the view.

They’re in the lunar flyby phase right now if anyone’s interested in watching the Livestream. First time in 50+ years humans have been there and actually looked at the far side of the moon with actual eyeballs.

This is cool :exploding_head:

more space garbage though…:sigh:

The Kessler syndrome is going to happen.

With your naked eyes you can still see space debris from the early 1960’s. www.heavens-above.com has the info. Specifically here - Satellite database

Nice links! Thanks.

Silo fire! ?
That Kesselrun syndrome is terrifying and terrifyingly plausible.

Here is a picture of Comet PanSTARRS taken on April 16. All of the streaks are Starlinks. There are over 10,000 of the Starlinks now and the plan is for 42,000 total. It’s getting pretty crowded.

Wow, what was the exposure time for that shot?

It is from spaceweather.com .

They say it was stacked 30 second exposures. Pasted below.

"Dan Bush took this picture before sunrise on April 16th from Albany, Missouri. It’s supposed to be a picture of Comet PanSTARRS (C/2025 R3), but it contains far more satellites than comets–more than 35 Starlinks in the full-frame photo.

“The ‘Starlink Zone of Maximum Reflection’ appeared right in front of the comet,” says Bush. “Stacking 30-second exposures helped alleviate the satellites, but they’re still there.”
