Thanks for the numbers. I’m trying to follow along, so I can work it out for other lights…
- 8400 lm over 8 LEDs is 1050 lm each
- 1050 lm plus a bit for losses takes 4A with a Vf of about 3.4V, according to Cree XP-G3, testing a R3 4000K 90+CRI emitter
- Resistance is Volts over Current, so total resistance is 3.4V/32A = 106mOhm
- VTC5A is specced at 13mOhm (Mooch measured 18.6), so 15mOhm each is reasonable
- 4 cells makes 60mOhm from the cells, leaving 46mOhm for the circuit.
Where have I gone wrong?
The springs aren’t bypassed with wire but there are smaller springs inside too.
I’ll take some more photos before trying to take it apart. I think the charging circuit needs to be removed to get to the springs.
