LG INR21700-M58T (5570 mAh)

Thank you for your information sharing

It may be that large brands of cars are testing the use of batteries, such as Porsche, Mercedes Benz, etc

Hi.
Is it possible to put these batteries to Convoy S21A/B ?

How many cycles does it has? From what i remember nearest model (LG INR21700-M50LT) has something around 1000 cycles.

Nkon lists some (reclaimed) M58T again, not listed as LG though… Does anyone know what these are? The price is crazy good for the specs. 404 Not Found 1 | NKON

Edit: no idea why the link preview says 404 - the link absolutely works for me

I’d end up with ~13€ incl 5,60€ shipping when ordering to Italy.

The most likely explanation is that LG doesn’t want reclaimed batteries sold under their name. So it’s LG cells. The price is lower because you can see in the pictures that this new batch of cells has the classic nickel strip removal marks on the terminals. So work is needed to grind them down before further use.

Oh that sounds interesting then. Maybe I’ll grab 2, the price is excellent and 5min of sanding don’t bother me - wouldn’t be my first reclaimed cells.

I’ll report back once they’re here. I do have the tools to run some charge/discharge curves, at least up to a couple of amps.

Where did you order from. Checking Nkon and they have no listing right now

I’ll order two cells from https://lbfbattery.com/

I get 2, both reclaimed, for different prices. Search results for: 'M58t' | NKON

Not sure if the link works for you as all nkon links I send seem to 404 for others.

I hope you have fun here, Jacobbix!

Yeah … I just get a page that says nothing found. I spent some time yesterday searching their site. M58T, LG 21700, etc. Nothing … Even just 21700 shows lots of cells, but no M58T.
Oh well. Maybe they sold out.
But thanks for trying.

That is so weird :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Did you try opening in another browser, or deleting cache/cookies for nkon?

I will try a different browser… I wonder if it is based on location… I am in the US.

New browser/ I used edge from which I had never visited NKON.:

EDIT:
BTW. It is location. I set my VPN to use a site in Germany. The same two cells in your capture show up in a search.

1 Thank

Wtf. That is so weird. Annoying. If you really want some I can proxy, but shipping to US is crazy expensive, and I have no idea how to (legally) ship bare batteries.

I really do appreciate the offer. But I can wait a while and see if the get wider availability.
Honestly I have way more LiIon cells than I need. Probably by a factor of 100 :japanese_ogre:
It is a matter of wanting to try the latest and greatest… but I can wait.

Thanks again!

1 Thank

They showed up today. Looks like they are indeed LG cells. Will test later and report back.

2 Thanks

have you tried the international (non eu) site ?

Thank you. I just tried it. Show no availability for anything M58T. Its OK. I will survive… :imp:

A first measurement of one of my cells. 4A discharge current (the highest I can do). 14.3 Wh I think.

plot_LG_INR21700-M58T_2024-08-17.pdf (17.8 KB)

I made a mistake when starting the measurement, so it stopped at 3.4V instead of 3.2 as I intended to make it kinda comparable to the tests from mooch (even if I have lower accuracy and can’t measure more than 4A).

I will re-run this test from 4.2 down to 3.2 and add tests for 2, 1 and 0.5A in time.
