Yes. Right now, the cell is frozen under a bunch of ice. When it thaws out in the spring, I’ll test it again.

I wonder if meltwater is conductive enough to discharge/short the cell.
I expect so. Even if not conductive enough to discharge the cell, the damage I caused must have increased the self-discharge rate to something that will cause it to drain within a few months. Or, it will just rust out or the electrolyte will get wet and ruined. I don’t expect it to survive the winter outside in its already damaged state, but we’ll see in April.
