Lo / Med / Hi vs. Hi / Med / Lo

I have some Hi /lo lights that makes much more sense to me than hi med low .theystart on Hi so you know what you're gonna get if you don't want that you can do a fast switch or cover and switch .

I kind of like the med low hi of the Xenos

Fascinating … lol

He’s missing random strobe, that would make it perfected.

What’s OSO? a bear?

SkyRay STL-V2 also has OSO. My other lights don't have Chinese SOS, only strobe.

Ah I see…

I also have both, but prefer L M H, I also have one that is H L M, think it’s a Ultrafire.
It’s annoying not being able to just do the brightness without needing to cycle through strobe and SOS as well.

Personally, I usually use my lights around the house, camping/hiking, geocaching, outdoors, and “what the hell was that freaky sound?” (otherwise known as ‘tactical’) scenarios. Since most of my usage doesn’t require instant high, a light that ramps L>M>H without flashing modes is ideal. I would prefer a light without memory that always starts on Low, but since I have yet to find one that fits my needs (and I’ve looked, a lot), I have settled on one that has memory and ramps L>M>H. In the case where I need a lot of quick light, holding the flashlight against my torso or two quick clicks gets me to >400 lumens of neutral white which is enough to scare the s#!t out of the neighbours in their hot tub.
Or the bunnies out of the backyard, or the Coywolfs *, or whatever is lurking nearby that shouldn’t be there. Or SHOULD be there but I forgot I invited them for dinner and drinks, and now they’re pissed at me for blinding them and now they’ve dropped their bottles of Rye.

So I guess it all depends on your preferences.
We like L>M>H in this home.

YMMV.

How about this one?

Med/Low/High/strobe/SOS? http://dx.com/p/5-mode-led-driver-circuit-board-for-flashlight-dc-2-8-4-2v-106796

I found that I really like this configuration in a C8 as medium is good for most tasks, it's easy to bump down to low for close-up stuff, but you still have the blinding DD high if you need it. But DX has been unable to get this driver lately, they keep substituting other drivers in its place...

Here's one for EZARC: Medium/High/Strobe/Low/Slow-Strobe/Super-Slow-Strobe/SOS/Police-Strobe:

I also prefer L-M-H (no memory) since I plan to use them for camping/walking around at night, but the low on most lights aren’t low enough for me so I decided to try to program my own P60 drop in. I find the memory function pretty worthless since that means I have to remember what mode I left it in (I am a chronic mode switcher)
