Thanks for the suggestion killforfood. I could do some modding myself. Maybe some suggestions on a good host and the internals would be good too. Only problem is I don’t know of any hosts with a rechargeable feature. And modding a flashlight with one sounds difficult, I’d be up for a challenge though.

Think you could flash firmware? Ever try it before? There are a couple firmwares that support a separate low voltage led indicator. ToyKeeper’s Ferrero rocher FW and I believe a FW by Tom E. Though I haven’t looked at them to see how easy it would be to convert to only a couple simple modes.

The Eagle Eyes X6R would be a good light to mod. The charging circuit is on a separate board (I believe I’ve seen someone already do a driver replacement on it). Has a tail clicky + side switch to allow separate on/off and mode switching.

Perhaps it would even be good enough as is / without modding?
