Looking for reclining office/gaming chair with footrest

I use a Herman Miller Aeron and a separate footrest (although they make one that attaches…). It’s soooo comfortable! I’ve been working from home for 6 months and some of the guys on our team are sitting in wooden kitchen chairs and have aching backs etc

They’re a little pricey but sometimes you can get sales or pick one up on ebay

I received the items that I ordered that should make my skunk chair more comfy.

I've been using them for a couple of hours, and they seem to be effective.

The armrest pads are perfect so far.

The seat cushion and back cushion are comfy, but feel unnatural.

(It might take me more time to get used to them.)

So I haven't decided if I'm going to keep the skunk chair or not.

I’m not a big fan of memory foam for cushions. Cause it has memory.
I don’t want to create a hole that forces me back into the same position. I want to be able to move about and have the foam spring back to the original shape.
This is particularly important for beds. Lie on thick memory foam and to me it’s like getting cocooned.
Tolerable for seat cushions since I don’t change around as much.
Memory foam was basically developed so an astronaut could stay supported in one position while being launched in a tin can.

Someone started marketing the stuff and everyone and their uncle had to jump on the band wagon.
Now makers are afraid to try to market anything that doesn’t have memory in the name.
Just my two cents.
RC, Keep us updated on the skunk chair.

All the Best,
Jeff

I never gave memory foam beds an extended chance, but I have a queen king-size memory foam pillow that is extremely comfortable.

Five years ago, it was $39, and worth every penny.

Ya I used to have a California king memory foam I got on overstock that I just put on the floor. Best sleep ever

My mom has a queen size memory foam bed.

She loves it.

I tried it out for about 20 minutes, but much prefer my inner spring mattress.

I tried to order the Ikea Markus from Ikea's website, and they do not deliver to where I live.

Also, there is no Ikea store near me, so Ikea just lost my business.

I feel the same about the bottom cushion. I can’t get used to it. It seemed to be more comfortable on a hard chair. The back cushion I use constantly, and couldn’t live without it now, like I told you it does take a while to get used to, because it is straightening you up. It feels wrong because your sitting posture (or mine was) was wrong, and now it’s better. Takes a while for your back and muscles to adjust from the slouch.
My back has straightened significantly over the couple of years I have used it, the muscles to hold me straighter have improved - won’t happen over a few weeks though.
I hope you end up with a chair that fits your needs now. :+1:

I should have been more clear...

The back cushion feels pretty natural, but after just one day, the seat cushion doesn't seem that natural.

I'm hoping that I'll get used to the seat cushion.

I've been experimenting with the skunk chair.

When I do not recline AND do not use the footrest, the chair is pretty comfy with all of my add-on cushioning.

If I just recline, it is somewhat uncomfortable.

If I just use the footrest, it is pretty uncomfy.

And if I recline AND use the footrest, it is the most uncomfy.

...

I'm thinking about buying a brand new recliner to replace my full-size recliner that is falling apart.

So far, I have mostly looked at recliners at walmart.com and on amazon.com for $300 or less.

I only found one that I like, and it is very close to $300:

https://www.walmart.com/ip/Better-Homes-and-Garden-Tufted-Push-Back-Recliner-Beige/208895206

It has good customer reviews, and fits large people well.

I don't think it is very attractive, but that is not my main concern.

I'm going to see what I can find for $350 in case there is something better for a little extra money.

If I cannot find something better, I'll probably order the Better Homes and Garden Tufted chair.

The only office chair I'm interested in right now is the Ikea Markus.

It's not available cheaply on American/Canadian Amazon or on eBay.com.

I don't think it's available cheaply anywhere except at Ikea, which doesn't help me.

Is the table attached to the recliner, and if so, how much are those?

My sister and I removed my old full-sized recliner, that is falling apart, from the house.

It wasn't super hot outside, but the humidity was pretty high for the desert, and I broke a major sweat.

...

I then ordered this recliner from walmart.com

https://www.walmart.com/ip/Better-Homes-and-Garden-Tufted-Push-Back-Recliner-Gray/832937629

I ordered it in gray because beige would probably look dirtier quicker.

By the way, Walmart's website lies through its teeth.

It said that the chair would be delivered in two days.

Well the two days is more like nine days (or seven business days) for the recliner.

I thought I would have the recliner by the end of this week.

Try sometime next week.

Other than that, the order went smoothly.

Here's an actual screenshot:

(Today is August 31st, 2020.)

I looked at recliners under $400 from amazon.com and walmart.com, and the only one I like is the one I ordered.

I hope I want to keep it, but I have 90 days from delivery to do a free return if I have to.

Amazon does the same thing with delivery. I think they mean free 2 day shipping after the order is processed. Very few of my Amazon orders have been faster than a about a week here.

For any one looking for more options, my friend has a gaming chair by Secret Lab Trident, check out their different colletions: https://secretlab.co/

I have heard very good things about Secret Lab gaming chairs, though they are expensive.

I put this on 3” casters. Best computer chair ever. Power recline with dual drink holders.

Looks nice!

It's probably above my budget, but do you have a retail link for the chair?

EDIT:

Nevermind, I found it:
