I use a Herman Miller Aeron and a separate footrest (although they make one that attaches…). It’s soooo comfortable! I’ve been working from home for 6 months and some of the guys on our team are sitting in wooden kitchen chairs and have aching backs etc
They’re a little pricey but sometimes you can get sales or pick one up on ebay
I’m not a big fan of memory foam for cushions. Cause it has memory.
I don’t want to create a hole that forces me back into the same position. I want to be able to move about and have the foam spring back to the original shape.
This is particularly important for beds. Lie on thick memory foam and to me it’s like getting cocooned.
Tolerable for seat cushions since I don’t change around as much.
Memory foam was basically developed so an astronaut could stay supported in one position while being launched in a tin can.
Someone started marketing the stuff and everyone and their uncle had to jump on the band wagon.
Now makers are afraid to try to market anything that doesn’t have memory in the name.
Just my two cents.
RC, Keep us updated on the skunk chair.
I feel the same about the bottom cushion. I can’t get used to it. It seemed to be more comfortable on a hard chair. The back cushion I use constantly, and couldn’t live without it now, like I told you it does take a while to get used to, because it is straightening you up. It feels wrong because your sitting posture (or mine was) was wrong, and now it’s better. Takes a while for your back and muscles to adjust from the slouch.
My back has straightened significantly over the couple of years I have used it, the muscles to hold me straighter have improved - won’t happen over a few weeks though.
I hope you end up with a chair that fits your needs now. :+1:
Amazon does the same thing with delivery. I think they mean free 2 day shipping after the order is processed. Very few of my Amazon orders have been faster than a about a week here.
