No holes needed, file the edge, put the wires around.
It does get hot on high, but not immediately; you have a few minutes. For normal use high isn’t needed.
The UI is smooth ramping, seems like Anduril 1.
It just works with no issues .
Thanks for the info. Do you have pics of how you managed to put everything together? How do you fix the switch board into the host? Charge port lines up well?
We just finished the other D10 with a Convoy H1 5 amp driver and a 5000k 519A.
It is also smooth ramping seems to be Anduril 1.
It was a little easier to fit, but still required filing the edge to allow wires to pass. A new plastic ring was made to go behind the switch.
Only seems like, but Its linear dimming, not like Andurils logarithmic. ;))

Oh well, I don’t like Convoy’s e-switch UI. But between this and nothing, might as well give it a try.
I might even try to use this 6V 3A boost driver to drive a XHP70.2 I have lying around just for the giggles.
2,2amp because of small host not for led . Where you will get optics for 7070? Im using XHP50 and stock reflector. Fat hotspot with sideligts just fine for cycling.

So now I’m thinking - since Simon sells S21E board with Anduril on it (10.58€ |Anduril 1,0 fet Treiber für s21e mit sst40/sft40| | - AliExpress) this could be a simple way to get Anduril UI on a D10.
Sadly it’s only Anduril 1.0, with no flashing pads to update firmware, and the driver is FET only. But yet, since it seems possible and simple enough, I am curious and may try it now.
The original purpose to this thread was to find a head light better than the NEBO Transcend for close up technical work, and for daily use around the house. I was hoping for a ready-made solution, but none were suggested that met all criteria.
Thank you to the group for the idea of modding a D10, I would not have thought to try it on my own.

That’s some quality hacks. Thanks for sharing! It looks fantastic. Now my next D10 is on the way, I’m gonna get the S21E driver and do this mod.
BTW Boruit D10 is on sale at AliExpress Super deals for $7. Best entry level moddable host.

It is listed as no longer available.
It had a white plastic housing, which I removed, and also filed the rim to make the diameter smaller, about 20mm. Also I flattened a little bit the area near the emitter hole.
