Lumintop GT nano on the way

Thanks, don’t really like it the way it is but apparently $11.98 was enough to push me over the edge :person_facepalming:

I don’t have Vipon. Are you talking about Nano’s for $27.97 or the 10440 tubes?

The Nano’s for $27.97

Thanks and a good deal. Does that include shipping?

Yes, just tax added

CODE:HUISTR30 if it still works

Does the tail switch on the Tool body turn the GT Nano on and off?

Nice!
can the Nitefox driver can handle LiIon too?

otherwise use a corresponding primary cell in 10180 size?
for example 1/3 AAA NIMH

(I dont know if it fits the Nano body…)

that would be really cool if both parts of the lego work

it means one could have a copper maratac head on a 10180 body… with an option to run a primary cell?

could be win win

Thanks, Muto! Just ordered one. :+1:

I’ve been waiting and waiting for a 10440 version but finally got impatient enough to Lego my own. I have a couple AAA tubes to try before resorting to the Nitefox.

No, it won’t. Narsil isn’t set up for dual switches.

Turning off the tail switch will act as a mechanical lockout, as if you loosened the tube of a stock Nano. Nothing will happen when you turn the tail switch back on until you click the side switch.

I don’t know what microcontroller the Nano’s driver uses, but I’m hoping to flash Andúril onto mine. Andúril can be configured for dual switches, and it works great, but the option needs to be selected while compiling.

For those of us that can’t order from Amazon, Banggood has the Nitefox K1. The battery tube appears identical to the K3 others have used. $9.55 including shipping with the BLF discount code. For the copper 10440 tube I’ll have to hope Lumintop releases it as I don’t want to pay $40+ for a copper light just to get a battery tube.

Thanks Muto.

The Vipon discount was enough of an enticement to order the GT Nano as a toy to play with NarsilM since I have never experienced that user interface and for showing to others while saying "it sure looked a lot bigger on the internet":

Nano is on flashdeal at bg now so none of the codes work :weary:

Thanks for that info goshdogit

I understand, but, I think you may have missed the point that the head of the Maratac will work on the Nano body tube. So you end up with two working lights.

imo Lumintop is not going to give us a free AAA tube. More likely, they will offer an AAA tube, with a Nano head on it, as a separate item.

why lumintop refuses 10440 tubes is beyond me…

I think you misunderstand, they never promised a free extra body.

I think they want to sell all the 10180 lights before they start producing 10440 lights.

I can see why you would wishfully think they would sell one head with two bodies, but I think what they mean is they will sell two different models, one w 10180 body, and another w 10440 body. Both with a Head on the body.

It makes no sense for a flashlight company to give away free body tubes, or to even make them without a head.

when I see this pic, I see two complete and separate flashlights:

the one on the left is not yet offered for sale. the one on the right you can buy today…

jon_slider, my friend, I hope you are well

I’ll have to disagree with you in some points here, as I guess in this case your assumptions are not completely corret.

Going through M4D M4X, aka Martin, posts on this thread, and others, you will see that the 10440 version was supposed to exist from the beginning!
You can see mortuus post #4 already talking about the 10440, so it was an initial option…

It would be to precocious to talk about a 10440 version if it wasn’t advertised 3 posts before on the OP.

Initially - if I am not mistaken - both “versions” were supposed to exist, and a similar picture to the one posted above was in OP, later retrieved due to the confusions, delays, postponings and reactions we had concerning the non-existence of the 10440 version, mostly due to that “bad decision”. I can’t remember if the photo was posted originally or later on, though.

Martin’s reports are here:

So, there was no plan to first sell 10180 and the 10440 versions. Those were supposed to be the same light!
Martin said what happened, so now we wait, or we improvise.

> you will see that the 10440 version was supposed to exist from the beginning!

thanks for added info

I agree the original plan was to offer a 10440 light.

but 10440 made the LED turn blue…
so lumintop stopped

people blamed the aluminium mcpcb

now we have reports that the lights people are receiving have copper boards…, and they are buying Nitefox hosts

So far nobody has reported their LED turned Blue.

.

To anyone with a Nano and an AAA tube of whatever kind:

1. Does you light have a copper board?

2. Does your LED turn Blue, or Not, when you use 10440?

Where is the best place to buy this light? Which LED is best? OSRAM?
