Don’t see why companies don’t make a bigger head than than tn42? If the niwalker and manker would have done this, there could be a lot more sales for them. Who doesn’t want a light than can dethrone the tn42.
Many collectors look only for that.
But the top speed is not the only thing that makes a good race car. Many others parameters and specs are important also (weight, size, regulation, level spacing, interface, cost), otherwise people would go around carrying a lightouse or a streetlight. Or both.
Since the output test is the quickest, I like to keep that as one of the last things (that, updating the runtime plots from % to lumens).
Now I have a new camera and I will have to make many shots in order to found the combination that matches what my eyes see.
This will take a whole evening, and it may also result in me not being happy with the pics and going back to the old camera or taking more pics.
This time I will do the output measurement next. So in the meanwhile I can publish something.
But you see the blue light on the switch? Means that the batteries are not running low. When they are low it becomes purple, then red. It is still blue. This may take some time.
But it’s got a 100mm head. The light in the image must be 90-95mm as that’s a 3.5” HDD under it and they are 102mm wide and there looks to be a fair chunk of room either side of it.
sometimes you have to gamble.
After 33.5 hours at mid mode I decided it was time to move the light to see how much was left, since the battery indicator was still showing batteries not close to discharge. They were around 3.7 volts, so I was only halfway.
So for this light enought runtime plots.
This light?
Let’s give it a name
For all you who ask the size of the head, is this the measure you wanted?
