Merry Xmas Everybody was recorded by Slade back in 1973, and brings a big smile on my face every year.
Maybe not for the quality of the song itself , but for remembering the quality of life I (we) had in those years.
If I had written that song I would smile every time I hear that song!
Because last year it grossed £ 500,000 in royalties. And it is played only in december, just one month!
But this song also has a sad ring to it. Thinking of those who are not around anymore to hear it.
We will remember them with warmth in our hearts.
And for those who can read this: a very Merry Xmas to all of you. And a happy and healthy 2017.
