Like E1320, that is the light that started my addiction;-) However, I don't have the guts to change mine just yet. I like that light SO MUCH that I don't think I could bear the wait for a replacement if I screwed it up;-) Not only that, but I'm not sure if I have the version that is modable in the first place.
I live with the strobe. It is only one half click. My 18650s are 5 mode so I have strobe and SOS to get through. That drives me so nuts that the R5A3 seems I joy in comparison. Memory keeps it in mid where it is extremely useful. My hand chokes it to low.
You are a very lucky guy to have one with 3 modes, no strobe, real low. That really would make it the perfect light to me. However, it is always nice to have something to hope for;-) I think when I finally to get into modding however I will start with one of my 18650 lights!

Just order another R5A3 now, Wade. Then when it comes in you can mod it to your heart's content and still have the spare to fall back on and enjoy no matter what.
