I normally 1/4 the tailcap to save the minor parasitic draw, must have forgotten it the last time. As soon as I was parked it did back it off, so it was safe again.

Omg I am so sorry that this happened to you. I was always kind of scared of that and with good reason it seems. My partner used to have one of those and he also had incidents when he would leave it out and it would burn a whole in either the mattress or the sofa. He actually just told me that he burned a whole in our outdoor sofa with a thing like that and the only reason I did not notice was because he went a bought a new one in our living room and switched the old one for the patio to hide his f*-up. I should have known that the reason he suddenly wanted a new couch in the living room was not that simple but honestly I just really wanted to brighten up the place and I have been kind of nagging him about a new sectional. I just remembered my wife left one of my lights on, face down, putting a nice burn mark in my grandmother’s antique furniture. If it wasn’t so well built it probably would have gone up in flames. I noticed smoke coming from the wood as i laid down in bed. I think that might have been a meteor also. I should have known better than to trust her with a powerful light after she let my little one play with my duty light until the battery died. Then he threw it in the garbage
