Fair point. I’m a bit torn. I mean, a good swing isn’t likely to be dulled too much by the rubber, but the rubber could save the light in everyday use.
I am now considering having two nice-sized lights that match. The battery guard feature is a nice selling point to me with alkaleaks. IDK how you could do that without that extra space…
I have a few Maglite in all sizes including the 6C, 7D and 3AA.
Obviously, I collect them.
TheML300L: 694 lumens, throws 450M and can last 177 hrs.

I really wish I could find more info on the Coleman VS the ML300L.
I wish I could justify buying both to do a comparison.
Supposedly, the Coleman gets higher lumens, but who knows?
I could get the 6D Coleman for $51.93 or the ML300L 6D for $72.76. IDK if the ML is worth $20 more.
Finding good info on NI-MH 10000Mah D cells is tough. Any suggestions on a charger or batteries? Amazon has some EBL deals, but I see mixed reviews about them.
I sure did. That’s much of why I doubt it’s worth $20 more than the Coleman. I just need to try to find good D cell NI-MH cells and a charger.
Show me another light that is close to those specs.

c) Humidity:” 49%.
d) Ceiling fan in low.

Dunno about keeping them around to resell, but to me Mags are meant for modding, not for being kept in their from-the-factory state.
And a driver that would drop down to 12% for the majority of the alkaleaks’ lifespan would just piss me off. I’d rather buy the hotwire version and stick in a Nite-Ize bulb or something.

I’ve been checking the specs of the 750M, and they are impressive.
900 lumens in Hi (6 hrs) and 50 lumens in Low (200 hrs.)
750 meters throw. Hum.
The Mag is more than 300 lumens in Lo. It will never last 200 hrs.
However, the Coleman is 7.5 inches longer than the Mag 6D.
26.9 inches long, to be exact. We are talking softball bat size.
It’s light at 1 pound 1.9 oz. for the size.
It could be an advantage. You will hit your assailant from farther away.
Remember to hit swiftly and step back. Hit and step back.
Otherwise, sooner or later, you will lose control of the stick.
Let him or her come to you. Never attack.
If by the 3rd time you hit ’em, they’re still standing, run. And FAST!!!

...... but that said a Trustfire T62 might be interesting it has an adapter that allows you to use 3 x 18650's ....
..... and that's a pretty descent size for a club or bat I would say ... when "push comes to shove" ......
.... the performance is also pretty good and it has a very simple UI ...... I paid around € 60,- for mine .....
In the beginning @ 7:00 you get a pretty good idea of the "club" length/size ...... and @ 11:45 you get an impression of the pretty descent performance.
@ 9:45 it's even mentioned .... "makes a really good defence W{bliep-bliep-bliep} ..........".........

It could be used better as a deterrent against people or animals. People generally prefer to commit crime in dark areas, and enough light in a situation will generally discourage that, or at least dazzle them.
Against moderate animal threats, perhaps, but hitting someone (potentially in the head) with a lump of metal is not “far less potentially lethal” than other means of self-defence.
In which case, why rely on a flashlight for ‘less lethal’ defence? I don’t know where that other guy lives, but in Britain, it’s illegal to carry pretty much any weapon whatsoever, so if you have anything for the purpose of ‘self-defence’, that itself is a crime. This is similar to the laws in many countries, and those are probably to what he was referring.
