XHP50.2 might be best since it has the same footprint as the XM-L2.
Actually mine is an H02, (previous version) and it’s slightly larger than the H03. There’s a ton of space inside and it has a 21mm driver like the H03.
Lexel makes a driver specifically for H03 (but not a boost driver) There are some 1S 20mm and 22mm boost drivers available but not sure about any an for e-switch.
I might just install a new driver and 18350 in my old H02 and call it a day on that one. I think it’s the BLF A6 tube, might require some modifications, I don’t have an A6 shorty tube but I tried the regular tube from my A6 and it does fit, but the O-rings are showing so I’d loose water resistance, although that wouldn’t be an issue for this.
Not exactly sure about fitment on the H03, but it looks like it worked out OK for chadvone.
I havent tried to change the H03 yet, and only had it 2 weeks. I just now got the battery i wanted for it, but it seems like it has potential. I believe an XM-L2 can be pushed to around 1600 lumens, am i remembering correctly? So a FET driver for it might give it a nice bump up. This is a headlight that i have been thinking about modding…… if its not too much of a piece of junk. https://www.gearbest.com/headlights/pp_1104480.html
Real interesting 1200lm angle light “Compass R” …Designed in Finland. Magnetic charging base like Olight/Armytek.
Apparently these are sold only in Europe, never heard of them or seen them available stateside.
Yeah as soon as i saw the Compass i instantly thought it was Armytek. They seem to be sharing the same design in most ways…… That monster light looks cool but maybe a bit heavy.
Head lamp looks nice but can’t see £150 in it tbh. Also I want to be able to pick my colour temp, not sure even what LED is in that lamp never mind CT.
It’s junk unfortunately, only good thing was Amazon’s next day delivery! Will post pics why later on, but basically cheap and not up to it. Grub screw to secure makes it difficult to lock up without it swivelling. Even then it’s not a confident hold. Back to olights head band ,different league . Very pricey for what it is, I would value it at $2 or so. Only difference would be it going in the trash rather than returned .
Sorry for the derail, just in case anyone thinks about buying for their hard hat.
Pics,
Reasons why its junk
Single grub screw , maybe 2 of them and an alloy body would have improved it a good bit. Still the plastic body does flex pretty easily when nipped up.
Little hex/allen key provided for grub screw
Underneath of attached, this will not hold securely enough for it to stop moving side to side. Even with the 3m tape applied above lip, just no use.
Another important factor which bothered me, the housing under the lip of the hat is in eye sight. I found it distracting when i tried it out.
The grip on the light(h2r here not their light) was also sub par, maybe because it was the olight. Still, i cant see body diameter differences that great on the 18650 headlamps.
How did you do that? lol I spent an hour searching for something like that and came up with nothing ! Might give that a go if i can source one easy enough. Hard to tell from pics, the thread looks beefier on the Armytek anyway. $9 is not the end of the world if turns out no good, small risk. Cheers :+1:
