XIAOZHI !

( or this )

Have you ever seen a Malkoff MD4 with a MD head? I run mine with two 18650,s
With those two cells and the extra weight of the burly brass Malkoff engine, it makes a wonderful stop stick!
And she will keep burning after some blunt force, for your trip home.
I also run a lanyard with a 3/4 steel ball monkey fist.
Never had to swing her in anger, the Lumens out the front have allways done the trick.

My first thought on getting this yesterday was “this would make a nice kubotan!” Maybe it’s a tad bit short, but it’s pretty decent for my average size hands. Also, the knurling I think is ideal. It’s not going to slip when you strike a target with it. The knurling hits all 4 fingers almost perfect for me.

You should look up the SolarForce L2 or other variants if they fit what you are looking for.

Thanks, that is too short, I have really big hands xxl , but thanks anyway,Ed

Solarforce have extenders, you can get a one cell or 18650 extender

I found a link on Amazon for this: Ultimate Arms Gear New Generation Tactical 7” Self Defense Handheld 130 Lumens White Light LED Security Police Flashlight, this one is 7 inches long. The head is a bit large, but it is in the ball park of what I want. Any thoughts? Thanks for all this, Ed.

What about an ld41 maybe?

OH yah, did you ever look at the Solarforce Gladiator? true weapon light.

How about this one: ebay

That's a real baton, not Yawara Stick. ;) Highly recommended though. Review here: https://budgetlightforum.com/t/-/6780.

..but the shorter clone of gladiator might not be so bad (after some modding that is)

I carry it just for that purpose.

I have a box full of Inova XO’s from several years ago- not super bright- about 80 lumens- with the Tiros lens. If the size works for you, you can have one WAY cheap if you want…if you want to mod it, you can throw a better LED in…

about 6.25” long, .75” diameter

Thanks so much Steve, that was great of you to offer, I know you meant it.

I have decided to get a Solarforce T2. It is around $26 and seems to be exactly what I am looking for.

Thanks again for your nice offer, I hope I get to return the favor soon. Ed.

Having XXL hands myself, and some experience with weapons, AND having had the opportunity to hold and use a Streamlight ProTac 2AA, I think it might be worth the higher price, especially if you factor in their nonpareil Customer Service…

I’d be remiss if I didn’t put that out there…

However, Old-Lumens has found what may be your Best Choice, adding the tactical advantage of disposability (cheap enough to toss rather than explain the “weapon” — as in “Yes, Officer, I really broke his carpal bone with my thumb! That scalloped bezel mark is from my thumbnail, really!”), and they’re apparently widely available to boot.

Hey thanks DIM, that looks great and I see you can buy a holster for it, I love that. I will check out the price and where to buy. Thanks so much, Ed.

Thanks for giving me a reason to add a 2*AA to my collection!

My usual 1*AA EDC concept doesn’t lend itself well to Jiujitsu… And the Ultrafire 501b I also carry is too short in my XXL paws for effective Yawara/Kubotan use.

SWMBO has a ProTac 2L (2*CR123) which is how I know their Support.

(PS: My EDC, “Yawara-equivalent tool” is a Gerber Paraframe… John Dillinger said you can get more done with a kind word and a gun than with a kind word alone. The idea of using a knife for Yawarajutsu gives me that feeling…)
