You can wrap the threads with teflon plumbing tape to keep them water resistant and replace the friction lost being past the O-ring. I like your idea on this…
Haha, I was going to type some comedy gold but I see I am too late. Ok, maybe not gold but it would have been good, or have just confused everyone
I had seen the closing info. but the website seems to say that the item just isn’t available for order. Looks like they would still accept orders with a delayed ship date mentioned.
Right now every item in the Convoy store shows up as no longer available. I would advise waiting until 27th when he is scheduled to reopen to place an order.
I’ll do that. Hadn’t checked any other items but that makes sense. Do you know what their usual time interval is from order placement to delivery in the US? From what I have read, this is one of the best overseas merchants to deal with. Thanks
My orders on average take about 2 weeks to get from the Convoy store to my home in Michigan. In my opinion Simon’s company (Shenzhen Convoy Electronics) is indeed one of the best overseas merchants to deal with. I’ve ordered a ridiculous amount of items from Simon. In the beginning I was a little skeptical because I wanted to use PayPal and that was arranged through chat messages and emails but he had a good reputation on BLF so I took a chance. As you probably know I am glad I did. There have been very few issues in my many orders and on the rare occasion that an issue comes up he handles it properly. Keep in mind the Spring Festival AKA Chinese New Year going on right now pretty much brings China to a standstill so for this period of approximately one month everything coming from China is delayed/disrupted.
Yeah, that was a bummer for me too. I have a really nice S3 that mostly just sits in my closet. It needs a clip. I bought the standard bolt-on clip and decided as soon as I put it on that there was no way I could live with that. Unfortunately, there is no good “standard” way that I see to mount a clip on the S3 without drilling holes and that’s just not my thing. I know there are a few alternative methods but I’m not a fan of those either, at least those I’ve seen.
Just received mines and tested one on my Convoy S2.
The clips are nice, well made and all but too flimsy in my taste.
They really suffers of the comparison with my Olights
I wouldn’t trust them to secure my Convoys on the sied of my belt…
I appreciate the thread, that would be a useful item for the Convoy S2+‘s I’ve ordered from Simon. I checked the link and it still says the clips are unavailable. Looking further it says his ’store’ is moving from 1/20 - 1/27. Today of course is 1/28 and it’s not back up yet but hopefully soon.
Thanks again and if anyone knows for sure when Simon will be up and running give a shout out
Simon is busy indeed. He has to run entirely new fiber optic lines through his new facility. This and other unforseen dificulties that come with the move are pushing the reopen date further back. I’m sad to say we’re probably looking at another 2 weeks. This is based on an email from him yesterday. He said probably the 15th. I’ll keep you posted.
