I just measured it. It takes exactly 1 second to turn off, from any level. BTW, I just posted a video review of the light, if you want to watch it that way.

The lack of LVP seems to rule it out for muggle use.

Yes, that’s certainly a downside, especially if a newbie uses the built-in charging and never checks the battery voltage. In that case, I’d definitely recommend they use a protected battery.
