New high efficiency Multi-die custom LED by me

@redstoner_35 Are you able to send me one LED for testing?

2 Thanks

Currently the MCPCB for FI1048D was out of stock, due to proprietary footprint so I need to wait for some new MCPCB. And also I have zero experience to ship something to worldwide. When the MCPCB arrived I will ship one sample for testing.

3 Thanks

Sounds good, if needed I can help you with shipping to Germany (will pay for it ofc)

Is the MCPCB with DTP (direct thermal path)? I am forced to use the 20 mm standard format due to my heatsink I have on my testing rig. 16 mm or other size will not fit unfortunately.

the MCPCB is 50mm diameter with DTP and 4Oz electrical path for minimum ESR and less power loss. Currently I don’t have any other MCPCB for it other than 32 and 50mm size.
Thats because this beast LED is not suitable for small host with limited driver space. Also, 1048D has a extremely low(might be too low) forward voltage for Direct-Drive with 2S battery.
Someone tried to use an 1048D inside an DDH-D4GC housing with EE5 driver(combined with two INR21700-50S) and the result is the LED immediately destroyed as a smoke bomb due to too much current go through it.

Ok, this makes the testing quite difficult.
Is this that board shown in this pic?

Maybe I can modify it slightly to fit it to my heatsink (drilling screwing holes for proper mounting).

1 Thank

Yes, is this board. For testing you can ignore everything other than V+ and V-(Main power path for the LED). The Aux input and NTC connector is some reserved stuff for my driver. Also I will send a 3D printed drill template combined with the LED for easier installation.

2 Thanks

This would be awesome. :+1:

Have you considered smaller/thicker MCPCB

For which LED?

I use standard 20 mm DTP MCPCB for my testing rig with standard thickness, which are working fine. I already had power over 200 W in my tests on these MCPCB.

Im referring to this specific led, sorry question was directed to redstoner

Since this LED uses a special footprint I have to design my own MCPCB (in standard 20 mm size) what I have not done so far. So at least I would have to deal with the available boards for this LED anyway.

currently I’m not gonna to fab small size MCPCB for this LED because it’s meaning-less.
Firstly, small size host did not have enough driver space for a driver can handle the current for this LED safely.
Also, small size host did not have enough heat-capacity to prevent Tj to rising too fast which will causing the driving current exceed safe limit(even before the driver know the LED is too hot and start to step-down) due to negative temperature coefficient of Vf.

Last night I dreamed that I found multi die 2.5fv hi-cri 4000K 3535 led… Maybe you can make make my dream come true?

We have a similar dream.

If I’m reading his chart correctly this thing produces 20000 lumens at 35 amps

That’s not really necessary imo

5000 lumens in a big smooth reflector would be just fine for me, preferably in high cri

And as far as putting a big led in a small host being pointless I disagree, it actually works pretty good.

Narrow reflector, yet the beam is perfect no annoying hotspot

2 Thanks

Where can I buy these? That’s incredible. I’ve tested the Sfp LEDs (Lumintop GT4695, Nightwatch NI03S) and only got like 13,000 max Lumens, but that’s at 3 volts. Would they be a drop in for 3 volt hosts like the Lumintop or Nightwatch or would you need a driver swap? If you could assemble some bare lights with these parts or sell as a kit they’d be a hit for sure.

Looks like a T8vn+ with a 5x5? is the emitter an SFP55?

The photos I posted are not the led the op is talking about

The photos are from skylumen website

I think the lumen output is 5000 not 20000

The point of me posting those pics was to demonstrate that a big led can fit into a narrow host

I don’t care if it puts out 20000 lumens. 3000 is plenty for me. I just like the beam profile it produces

I have an Emisar D1v2 with an MT-G2, you would love the beam. Nice and floody with a big hotspot.

Closest thing available nowadays would be an FC-40, it has a huge LES

How do we acquire one of these? This looks like the perfect led. I want need one of these in my life. :eyes:

2 Thanks

I predict a group buy incoming
I’d like this in a 21700 thrower and a mule and don’t mind a timed turbo step down
