Even the most minimal shorty mod involves more time than can be covered by what one is worth relative to what you can buy already made. Add in boring the head for 20mm optics and custom pills and drivers and it all goes out the window. I’ve been hung up on them since I saw my first shorty but no way can you make more than a dishwasher selling them without major compromises in quality and fit.
You're very correct Duck, but I guess I'd rather be building micro mags than washing dishes. Fact is I do make enough on these little lights to improve my quality of life and make my family smile a bit more. It's not doable as a commercial venture and I wouldn't want it to be but spending winter evenings building lights for folks rather than rotting my brain staring at the tube carries its own rewards.
