New Olight i3S

Where did you buy your light from?

Has it got the XP-G2?

How much did you pay for it?

Nice box!! ;)

congrats to the purchase!

23,95 USD (+2 $ insurance tracking) in hkequipment.net.
It indeed xp-g2.

Thanks Kreisler, is truly a pretty box
(also the flashlight looks interesting) :stuck_out_tongue:

haha

Looks great. I like the reversible clip, more like the iTP A3. What order are the modes? Olight seems to indicate it is H-M-L and strobe available if you cycle through those twice. I guess after a few seconds off, it comes on High again? (no memory)

Hello.
3 Modes, Low (20 lumens) - High (80 lumens) - Moonlight (0.5 lumens)
No memory, always start in low (20lum.). Has hidden strobe (low-high-moonlight-low-high-moonlight-Strobo).
I have done a small review on forolinternas.com (It’s in Spanish, my English is quite bad)

I really beg to differ.

I just LOVE my Olight I3S EOS! It is exactly what I want in a key-chain light. Tiny size. Tail stands. Clip. IPX8 waterproof. XP-G2 emitter. Comes on in low, twist to high, twist again to moonlight, hidden strobe. Super bright on 10440’s (not officially supported) if you want and still has moonlight mode. Wish I had done a Lumatic standard purchase during Wallbuy’s 50% off sale.

Low offers quite a usable amount of light when it comes on as the default turn-on mode. I bet it gets quite warm on HIGH within just a few minutes running on a 10440.

I always consider any light running a higher voltage battery to be only a TURBO when on HIGH and to be used sparingly in bursts as the LOW mode output level is quite good when using AAA cells (alkaline or NIMH).

Does the 10440 fit ok without being tight to remove it? This light is a great improvement on my trusty ITP A3 EOS (Upgraded) EDC although the beam tint looks a bit creamy yellowish compared to the ITP A3 or the Olight I3 EOS. The I3S EOS has a far better attachment point than either the ITP A3 or my old Olight I3 as it can now tailstand ok. The clip is stronger and better designed than the other ones I mentioned above. Well done Olight!! As much as I like throwing lights I still need these little critters to get me around.

Thanks for the good posts here on BLF!

The only 10440’s I have are the blue ultrafires and they fit well, length and width. With 10440’s the light gets hot on high very quickly. You only have a few minutes before the light gets too hot and you’ll want to switch to low. I guess you could call that turbo, but it doesn’t automatically kick down after a few minutes. I’m currently running it on alkalines and it seems bright enough for the application, but with a 10440 that little light sure is impressive.

So they’re going back to the old ITP A3 design of the clip? Interesting.

I’d love to see it in SS though.

Banggood has it for $22

Just got the new one with the XP-G2 in the mail today. I was very excited as this is my first i3 and Olight flashlight.

Unfortunately, the emitter on mine seems to be very very very warm white. I thought most of these XP-G2s were cool white on the i3s? I don’t mind warm white but it honestly this seems too warm even. Not sure if I am going to keep it yet.

WW XP-G2? :open_mouth: Can you take a close-up pic of that emitter?

Sure, I can in a little bit here. Honestly I don’t think it was supposed to be warm white. The more I look at the beam, the more it seems almost yellow. Colors definitely don’t look great with it at all. My cool white and neutral white lights render colors better. I think it’s just a fluke.
