The issue is the high parasitic drain from the electronic switch. Two reviews of the EC4 listed 350µA standby drain. Mine is around 600µA standby that will drain batteries in short order just sitting on a self. Tail must be fully removed to stop the drain instead of the usual loosening of the tail cap. The threads and locking screw are all unanodized. I still ordered the EA4S though.
