I have a similar experience comparing the HC33, HC30 and Concept 1 (and also the skilhunt headband witch is my favorite over the stock headband). As my HC30 hasn’t had as much mileage as yours, I don’t find the anodizing to be all the much different, they look a lot like each other to me in the finishing department.

Other details that changed from the HC30 to the HC30:

• Memory does not memorize moonlight and turbo like the HC 30 does, so you always have quick access to moonlight, turbo and the last of the 3 intermediary modes you have turned the light off while using. The HC30 would memorize ML and turbo
• The tailcap is a tad taller because of the magnet and thicker spring, and the tube is a tad taller because the driver protrudes a little more, but they lego with each other and you can use the shorter HC30 tube with an unprotected cell to cut a few millimeters and grams
• The more protruded positive contact allows for any flattop cell, while the HC30 wouldn’t work with some cells without a magnet or spacer of some kind

Other than the lack of a neutral white emitter option, this is a great flashlight and a nice update on the previous model

I just tried and my memory saves Ultralow and Turbo?

My HC30 has no magnet and i can’t remember if it came with one?

Yea the HC30 is a bit short for protected cells i have a Samsumg 30b in mine now and its tight.

Funnily enough not many protected cells can run the HC33 so they could of saved a few mm.
