nitecore TIP and TIP CRI

[quote=Trevi_lux]

iirc the SGN3 uses PWM, so I would not consider it as I dont buy lights that use PWM any more.

Does anyone know if the TIP uses PWM?

Interesting question. Pretty sure my Nitecore EA11 does use PWM

It has even a low frequency-very annoying PWM, I don’t use it anymore because of that

Interrested in a thump and depending on price and reviews a TIP CRI 5000

interested in the tip, i already have a thumb on the way.

yes, High CRI is ahead at the moment,
107 Tip CRI,
95 TIP
are currently requested in the group buy thread

Are you sure about those numbers? Last time I checked, it was about 40% TIP and 60% TIP CRI. Did you add the Thumb column in with the TIP columns?

your are correct!
thanks for catching my mistake in counting the Thumb

the score is
70 Tip =40% of total
107 Tip CRI=60%

to my suprise, 53% more orders for Tip CRI than Tip… seems the High CRI option is definitely showing majority interest… glad to see Im not a High CRI minority…

ps, thanks for the heads up that The TIP CRI originally reported to use PWM is now reporting NoPWM, I hope that is accurate

Not the greatest review but I found Nitecore Tip First Look/First impressions - YouTube on youtube. Does not really have much as far as beamshots go but the rest seems to be decent for a review.

which version is the one with the gray switch? Silver TIP or the Gray TIP?

looks great! Even more anxious now. I could order from Illumn and have one in 2 days!

?
their site says:
“PREORDER: EXPECTED SHIP TIME ~1-2 WEEKS”

Acording to nitecorestore they both have a black switch :

If you look at this picture I would say the silver TIP and the sand/tan TIP has a grey switch :

I hope not. I think it looks more sleek with the gray switch on silver.

Received mine today and its a pretty great little light. Will have a review up soon!

Look forward to your review! Any quick look? Brightness, throw, build quality?

Nitecore Tip: SEVERE Parasitic Drain in Lock-Out Mode !!

The following FIVE people in this thread are reporting short battery life when using lockout
blah9, bltkmt, YummyBacon, 1jono and 1jonowife

thank you for confirming lockout drains the battery within a week or less.

what happens in standby?

Supposedly it’ll last for over a year.

is ‘standby’ when it is in lockout mode?
