nitecore TIP and TIP CRI

?
their site says:
“PREORDER: EXPECTED SHIP TIME ~1-2 WEEKS”

Acording to nitecorestore they both have a black switch :

If you look at this picture I would say the silver TIP and the sand/tan TIP has a grey switch :

I hope not. I think it looks more sleek with the gray switch on silver.

Received mine today and its a pretty great little light. Will have a review up soon!

Look forward to your review! Any quick look? Brightness, throw, build quality?

Nitecore Tip: SEVERE Parasitic Drain in Lock-Out Mode !!

The following FIVE people in this thread are reporting short battery life when using lockout
blah9, bltkmt, YummyBacon, 1jono and 1jonowife

thank you for confirming lockout drains the battery within a week or less.

what happens in standby?

Supposedly it’ll last for over a year.

is ‘standby’ when it is in lockout mode?

standby when unlocked allows accidental activation
standby when locked out stops accidental activation but causes fast drain

Well, if this new TIP doesn’t turn on in my pocket when unlocked, like the TUBE always did, then it’ll be OK and I’ll keep it. BUT, if it turns on in pocket, back it goes and hopefully an upgraded version emerges soon.

neal will find out :)

(maybe thats a reason why the shippment was delayed so long?)

some thoughts on the TIP

1. Great Beam!
2. High CRI option!
3. Do NOT use Lockout, it drains the battery in a few days
4. It has mode memory, so if concerned about accidental activation, consider turning off from Low.

I had this thought.

I got stuck with a flawed TUBE that turned on in the pocket. Nitecore fixed it and reissued an upgraded TUBE. .

So why should I get stuck with a flawed TIP. Should I return it and wait for the upgrade?

First TUBE, then TIP…what’s next? SHAFT?

Balls?

How about some Tactical Balls ?

As funny as the name sounds, it’s apparently a legitimate device. It’s a rolling, distracting, disorienting light source meant to draw the bad guy’s attention away for a moment so you can make your move.

Since the Tip ’n the Tube turn you On prematurely, try a light w a Twisty to get Off reliably.
If you got a new Tool, you could stop playing with your NiteCores.

I love the TIP interface, SGN3 is awful compared….

Nitecore is sending now lights with improved drain in lockout mode.

Do you know if this gb is active or is dead?

(here with a microUSB cover bought in ebay):

(the pics are of my old model, high drain in lock out mode, now testing without lock, is more than 20 days and battery is maked yet as more than 50%, but I would like bought one improved model!)

I got notification today from BangGood that the TIPs are now available.

Hopefully these are the “new” batch.
